Spending on girls

I'm still not clear as to what the rules are about spending on girls. I know having money is attractive but since i'm just a student...

plus, doesn't it also get a girl invested if she spends on me? Or at least, for her share.

My personal rule is: never spend more on a girl than I would for myself... unless she's my mom, sister or my gf (who I've been in a relationship with for at least 3 months).

Another rule... I don't date on credit.

my personal rule is never buy drinks, meals, movies, or xpensive gifts for a woman i havent slept wit. i feel like it doesnt make her any more attracted to me nor does it make her respect me any more.
if im gonna spend money on her its not gonna b a considerable amount till im sure shes worth it. dats y never xpensive first dates. [e.g dinner date - the guys feel uncomfortable cus he spent his hard-earned money on the girl n xpects somethin in return n the girl feels uncomfortable cus he spent money on her n she knows he xpects somethin in return]

"dont spend money unless your already screwing her"- Gambler..... just be able to hold your own on dates, if she asks you to pay for her, then thats not the type of girl you should be pursuing cause that my friend is a gold digger

I don't mind buying girls a drink or two from time to time, even if I just met her. But I don't make a habit of paying a girl's way and I'm actually more likely to spend on girl buds than girls I'm gaming. The last thing you want is a girl you can buy.

And yeah, no expensive first dates. It's not just because she may never put out but expensive first dates are often contrived and awkward and you both have to dress up... and I'll be darned if I'm going to wait for a girl to finish 'getting ready' on a first date.

So, it's really okay to ask a girl to spring for the popcorn if I pay for the movie, that kind of thing?

I never ask a girl to pay unless it's a relationship. I wouldn't ask a girl to pay for popcorn, seems like you're being cheap. I'm a student, but I still manage to pull down more than enough to pay for dates, you can get a part time job. Always pay for things like popcorn actually.

Usually, girls go into a date with me with the Mindset that they will pay half, and I let them do so if they insist.

I hate to say what you guys already know, that if you really start out spending so much on a girl, the minute you don't, she'd flee. Unless she's your gf, probably.

Plus, there's also that expectation of spendings (is there such a word?) Escalating so starting out high will be very foolhardy.

Spending is also a way to screen girls. I look at how girls react to it on a first date. If she doesn't offer to pay at all, it's usually minus points for her... Most girls will offer to pay though.

If you buy drinks for her, make her earn them.
