too much too soon alert

so there's this girl i'm interested in that i already know so the whole approach thing is basically over. she's a friend of a friend.

we're friends on facebook now. we had lunch a couple weeks ago.. then a few nights later went to the same event and hung out some in a group after but barely spoke.

a couple days after that i asked her out for a morning snowboard to which she basically replied a bit too much too soon.. so now i'm a but stumped as to the best way to proceed. how long to wait? how to initiate? or have i blown it already?

is this a place to talk about stuff like this?

You can play it off. Do not look affected by this :
"Phew! I get to have all the fun by myself. I'll tell you later how it went."

That not's bad, but it seems a little AFC. Be of the Mindset that you do nothing by yourself; you always have cool people around.

I'd go more defensive, actually. "You're cool, but what did you think I was asking? I'm going up to kill the slopes with my friends and was just inviting you and your friends along. I make friends all the time and just invite them along to be friendly."

I can't possibly see why you would go defensive in this situation. Plus, why would you self validate at all? ( "I make friends all the time and just invite them along to be friendly."...Oh, and too many "friends" in one message. Over-usage or stressing a certain thing in defense mode usually implies either bragging or the exact opposite, both cases you fall in a trap. And in this case, you fell into a trap you set yourself. Completely unnecessary. )

"You're cool, but what did you think I was asking?" - If I were a woman, I would've seen right through that. My 2 cents.

And I do stand corrected :

"Phew! I get to have all the fun just with my friends, then. I'll tell you later what you missed out on. "

He AFC'd it when he didn't talk to her at all, then asked her out a few days later. In her mind, AWKWARD. And she said as much. A comment like what I wrote resets the frame. Scrambles her up a bit, makes her think she got the wrong impression, and that SHE did something wrong.
