US has too many "Alpha Males"

Why does the US have the highest murder rate in the western world? Everyone thinks they're an Alpha Male. Too many generals not enough soldiers. As an Asian American who travels the world I dread coming back to the states. PUA and American culture in general emphasizes an exaggerated sense of self confidence and self worth. This is why we're the only country capable of producing both a Marc Zuckerburg and a Bernie Madoff. Only time will tell if this American led state of mind will continue to thrive. Coming from an economics background history has demanded fewer and fewer alpha males relative to their followers. This is why the rich keep getting richer.

Unfortunately, reasons why for such a thing are rarely simple, but they do all stem from societal factors.

Other countries started out with - and maintain - a stronger social obligation than we seem to for such behavior.

I don't believe it has any correlation to "Alpha" status or not. (Hint: Watch the National Geographic special on "Stress.")

But I definitely agree with our overly-individualistic culture. There's no "I" in team, so Americans spell it: Te-I-Am.

Murders are not Alpha's. They're cowards who can't control themselves. Unfortunately, what has taken over with young people is the attitude of being the baddest gangsta, as if thats impressive.

Most proficient murderers are alpha's. Some are cowards. Murderer is too general of a term. A gang banger who kills another gang banger is a murderer; a man who kills his wife and children while they sleep is a murderer; a serial killer who convinces women to go to his house, where he kills them, is a murderer.

In a lot of circles, being the baddest is quite impressive. Why? Becasue they have earned a respect they are almost always afforded. This is seen as one of the highest tokens of a high value invididual. Fear is often misunderstood for respct, but has the same affect as respect from onlookers.

To the OP:
The US may have an exagerated sense of self-worth, as a whole, but when you are here, you are competing with us for the women who look for such things. Other parts of the world's culture in mate selection does not matter if what you are doing, where you are, is working.

I don't think it should be up to my parents to negitiate how many bovine a woman is worth, but I'm not going to start a thread about domestic violence based on that observation.
