In need of serious help!!!!! (AFC dilemma)

I'm talking to a girl that said she had interest in me a week ago, but I'm just now finding out that she has feelings for some other dude. I've been using the material religiously over the past week, but he's a younger, bolder, more energetic guy in general, while I'm just a shy college dude who's just getting hip to these techniques.

We were supposed to play a game of pool today (I told her I needed somebody to beat, and that she would be the perfect person for that) but she called saying she fell asleep (quote-unquote)and that she was studying.

So.......drop it and move on? Or compete? And if I do compete, whats the game plan?

Hmmm... unless this girl is hardcore serious about her schooling right now and/or has an exam coming up, I don't think she'd turn down a date she was really looking forward to just for the sake of studying. If she was really interested, you could probably tell. Did she say anything like "maybe we can do something else after I'm done studying" or just leave it at "sorry, I'm studying now." ...? what she said afterwards can really tell you a lot.
