How long should it take before a girl responds to your first text?

Hey guys, I'm new to the site and forum, but thought this was the best place to look for advice.


On Friday I was on a shopping street and there was a "pancake girl" riding the pancake bike. She stopped a few meters away from me and my friend and set up her pancake stand there.

I kept walking and talking to my friend and when I turned my head to look at her, she was looking at me and we both smiled. She said "hey" and I said it back and smiled.

I kept walking with my friend until I told him i had to go back. So I went back and we decided to get some pancakes.

The moment I got there she started making conversation and talking to me, asking me some personal questions like where I'm from etc. I did the same, we had a pretty good conversation. She told me she was there to study dance and was a dancer.

At the end I said to her, "Ok look, I actually came back because I thought you were kinda cute" she was sort of knocked back and enthusiastically said "thanks!" Then I said with a smile "I'd like to take you out sometime if you're up for it, maybe you could teach me a few dance moves" she was like "yeah! sure!" so I got her number.

She didn't remember her number so she had to look at her phone, asked me for my name and told me her name was "Caroline with a C... it's important". I saved her name on the number and showed it to her and said, "like this?" She thought I meant her number so she said, "wait i dont remember ill check" and was about to look at her phone again until I told her I meant her name and she said "yeah".

I smiled and said "Yeah, so I'll text you" as I was walking backwards and she smiled and said "yeah" then I walked away with my friend.

Sunday I decided to send her my first txt message which was, "Hey Caroline with a C. Sold pancakes to any cute guys lately? "

I thought it was a pretty good first text so that she would know it was me, what do you guys think?


Anyway, it's been a few hours and she hasn't txted back yet. How long should I wait until she txts me back?

That happened to someone I know. It turns out that he was fooled by her. I honestly don't think she's gonna text you anytime soon, but resist, with all your might, to text her again! Don't do it! Why would she tell that the "C" was important? Did you test call her phone right when she gave you her number?

I looked her up on the phone listing and it is her.

She told me the C was important because some people spell it with a K here in Scandinavia.

I think she just didnt want to seem fussy with her name so she added the "its important" part as a semi joke.

Alright, bro. I was apparently thinking the wrong thing then. My friend was fooled because he actually got one of her blocked numbers, so I was thinking it might have happened to you lol.

Any help guys?

Should I just casually call and tell her to meet me for coffee if she's in town?

I been in the same situation man,

But I texted this [HB8] around 3pm, I waited for a response for 10 mins, still nothing. So then I waited 30 mins, still nothing. So I pretty much freezer her out, I didn't try to text a second time because I didn't wanna be a pest. But then next day early in the morning she texted back.

So In my situation it was kinda weird I didn't get a response within an at the most 30 mins but If I were you just wait it out man, If she doesn't end up ever responding, she aint for you.

You are displaying massive signs of neediness here and you need to check yourself. If you make further contact in this state you may scare her off.
Give it a couple of days.
