    Question whats my next move

know girl for like 3 years
good friends for a while, then stopped talking about 6 months ago
    hanging out again recently
flirt a bit, both comfortable and good keno
go out once a week or so, usually just weekends
stay at her place one night in spare room
    she comes in joins me
we talk for a while, i make a move, she doesn't seem interested.
    didn't pursue it much more
didn't leave to her bed or anything
    no awkwardness following

should i have tried harder? what can i do different? if i was friend-zoned would she still have come to sleep with me?

I don't know if i want to date this girl, shes kinda high maintenance, but a 8 or 9 at least.
I'd like to just have some fun.

Yeah just try be more aggressive, instead of making small slow moves make more responsive and powerful moves to bring it to a boil. Reduce your own maintenance and make a direct move - be persistent and if she truly rejects you at least you find out and aren't wasting anymore time. That is the impression you have to give her: that you don't mess around because there are other girls out there. Quite often girls in this situation (sleeping over) will play a little hard to get, so play harder. If she's in your bed you have to stop thinking about everything and let your hands and kisses start do the talking. Especially if she's not saying much or there's no awkwardness. Sounds like she is waiting fo you to take her more strongly and look even if it doesn't work out at least you were strong and she will remember that. Better to try 100% and fail than try 60% and never know.

You may want to try some classic push/pull. With your words and your body. But the pull and push should be on your terms. This will create the Tension within her.
