Default Shaved head, sexy or creepy?

I have a bit of a genetic problem. By the time my grandpa turned 21 he had lost nearly all his hair, and I inherited that in spades. I've been shaving my head since I was around 19 (I'm 23 now) but I've never really given any thought or gotten any consultation on whether it works for me or not. My hair line is about an inch from the very top of my head, and my crown is thinned enough to see scalp even when I wasn't shaving it, so my line of thought was either shave it or have a comb-over at 25.

I'm a pretty big guy, 6'1, 220 pounds, former right tackle, so most of that (but admittedly not as much as I'd like) is muscle. All this, I suspect, works against me though as I've sometimes been called creepy or intimidating.

So what's the general wisdom on shaved heads, yay or nay?

Hey there pal! I'd say a shaved head can be very alpha and badass, especially with a man of your size. Just take a look at Vin Diesel and Jason Statham.

I'm about your size and have been shaving my head for about 15 yrs. Best thing I ever did. Keep it clean and smooth. It usually sets you apart from the crowd right off the bat. Own it.

Women also love to touch it, been told they fantasize about it like a giant d*ck. Had girls ask to lick and kiss it too. You can also use the " hey ill look the same in 10 yrs when that guy is trying to do the creepy comb over" thing.

Lol, at Jazz373, that fantastic advice.

I shaved my head last year due to balding, and I'm currently in college gaming college girls (saw a picture of my grandpa at 19, bald w/ a horseshoe of hair around sides of head). I've had lots of girls ask to touch it, or just run up and rub my head. Truthfully, I also got a couple comments like "you look so tough, but you're actually nice," or "I was intimidated when I first saw you."

I rock the shaved head, and I'm a pretty muscular guy with tattoos, so my total look may appear "too tough." However, I do a good job balancing it with my gregarious attitude and cheerful nature. Girls like the mystery.

You should appraise your look holistically. What do your clothes say? How about your body language?

As an aside, us bald guys need to stick together, so here's rooting on ya, dude! *clink*

Stop fighting nature and the truth and shave your head. You rather be laughed at or be seen as creepy? Listen at the end of the day women loves personality, a guys personality to be exact. If you have a great personality she will not care about your shaved head.

That sentence isn't very helpful for his confidence (though I know you meant well ).

The important thing is, be comfortable with your amount of hair and women will be comfortable with it too. A comb-over fools no one so shave your head. Remember to not take a goatee (wicked professor-look alert) and remain slightly tanned (some guys look sick when they're bald and really white).

I've been shaving my head for two decades and everything you're thinking about it true, but they aren't deal breakers at all. Yes, you will look intimidating at first glance - so you need to be friendly and smile more than usual, focus on your teeth and face and make both look as awesome as possible. Fact is not all women like bald guys, but I meet a ton who say they never dated one but they really like it on me...but it is definitely something you have to own - laugh about it, joke, whatever, but don't ever for a second go back to wishing or even wondering about having hair anymore - your different, your aerodynamic, you rock. It's the only way...

Shaved heads really are not an issue to women at all.

If you're curious about whether or not guys with shaved heads can attract women, just ask our friend Bill Preston!

Shaved or not, I don't think it matters. I shaved my head for a while to be low maintenance ( and I was a little insecure about my receding hairline).

Whatever you do, just make sure it's done well. I think sloppiness is the biggest thing that's going to hurt you for looks. When I was BICing my head I had to use lotion/conditioner about everyday.

My buddy that still shaves his head got a headblade. It's like a razor on a matchbox car, totally awesome.
