Default "PUA Allstars" Chat Room Discussion

Ok, so here's what I'm thinking.

    • The chat room would be a place for a group of us to get together and discuss pick up theories and build connections.
    • It would not replace the forums as a place to publish and share PU information. It's purpose is to help that process.
    • In order to make sure that this chat room doesn't become the place for the newbies to go to get questions answered or learn pick up, it'll be necessary to limit who is allowed in via a password or secret URL. How we decide who get's in is up for debate.
    • We would keep each other accountable to make sure that we don't stop posting on the forums.
    • If we do make this chat room, I think we should get Bill's blessing. It just seems like the right thing to do.
    • The name of the room would be Project Internet. (PS, this is also up for debate.)

Alright, so what's everyone's thoughts on this? Yay or nay? Feel free to add guidelines or make suggestions

top 100 only included i reakon, or a reputation above a certain level, so we can make ultimate threads,
Men, we need to value our time more then we value women. This isn't to say women are not valuable. But who are we to believe in something so illogical, as men we should realize that without our time(life), we would not even be able to pursue women, but only our mother who gave us life. Why do we think we should prioritize them over our time(life) unless she is the one who gives me/my children life. Man is Sovereignty.

So you're thinking we let 100 people in? That's going to be a big room. I was looking through the stats on that list and the best way I've found is to judge like the top 30 or so with the highest reputation and a decent level of activity. That would give us...
    BatMan
    Cody
    Whitedragon
    Virg
    T-Mal
    Kino Suave
    RB
    Xavier
    Bill Preston (low activity)
    Gunsnglory (low activity)
    Tyrone
    rs5096 (low activity)
    Silicon Magician (low activity)
    Autismus
    Meteora
    Bobat
    Infrared
    Topgunningit
    Myself
    chet23
    pwonager
    Rooster
    HighTower (LA)
    Hopeful33
    liukang75
    nik (LA)
    Mikalichov
    SonnyCurtis (lower level, 57)
    Mr8Hyde6
    DandyLion

That's the top 30, excluding people with 0% activity. If we expand that to 40 we get...

    Achilies
    FauxPas (LA)
    Yolo007 (LA)
    dgmortal
    Gemini (LA)
    Playa (LA)
    Link777 (Lv 54)
    Conquistador82
    JonTylerDiPrince
    inter1010 (lv 45)

I think that covers just about everyone we'd want in there. We could make exceptions for a few people, but I can't think of anyone off the top of my head who's not here that should be.

PS. Low activity just means anyone who's activity is less than 10%

Actually, I think the content/quality of posts, is more important than quantity... & there are a few new guys who I've noticed have some solid advice & input.
So it might be more beneficial to base it on that aspect.

More like a "case by case basis".

Although, there probably should be some sort of "Reputation Qualification"...

Which means; those of us with higher "Rep Power" (being able to give more rep points) should use that feature more often, when we see contributions that deserve more than just a "like" or a "thanks".

i defenetly agree with tyrone, the chat room should be open to people other than just the top 30, i think it should be rep based, say anyone with over 500 rep points,or maybe we should start with this group and then have to approve anyone else who wants in. i definetly like the idea of the private chat room, but "project internet" doesn't sound that cool, instead we should call it "project connect" (ie. its an oportunity for us to connect with each other) just my two cents about this

@T-Mal (I like the name change btw!) ...and I guess really @Everybody too, regarding Rep Power: is there a way to boost someones' rep partially? Like, T-Mal has I think 101 rep power, is there a way for him to boost rep by less than 100 points? Other than "Thanking" of course.

Because if a rep boost is always going to equal in points the rep power of the booster, then we may run the risk of "rep inflation" - OR ...actually just realizing this - since a person can only boost someones' rep once (right?) I guess it might not be as big a problem - we'll just end up with everybody having rep points into the ten-thousands after a few months.

I might just not have a thorough understanding of the rep-boosting process, I do think we should be using it more (when earned - like giving girls IOIs lol) just maybe we should do "thanking" more than "rep boosts" except for really phenomenal contributions to the PUA community.

I had no idea that's how rep power worked!

And I've always thought liking should give like 3 or 4 points, that's all some people use

I love the chat room, I'm not sure on how to go about it yet so ima step back from that debate for the moment

See, here's the thing about getting more people.

    1. I don't know of a way to get a free chat to host that many people. I was having a hard time finding one that could host 30.
    2. You lose a bit of that intimacy and that chance to connect the more people you put in.
    3. Quality of posts is important, but there's no way in hell I'm reading through 30+ people's post history trying to judge their mental faculties. That's just too much work. I figured going off rep would be the next best thing. Good posts get thanks and likes, all of which boost your reputation.

The actual "REP" button is the little scale at the top right-hand side next to the "Alert !" directly above each post.

When you click that, you can give BIG rep points. (Based on your rep power.)

Sooooo... those of you whom I "repped" today saw a boot of 100 points.
(Example- I JUST repped Bill *while he was logged in as "Admin" so he just got a nice bump up)

The "like" button adds 10 rep points when you click it.

You have to rep multiple people before you can rep someone again... (It's set up that way to make sure you "share the love")

But.. after you spread some rep points around (Not sure how many different people it takes... maybe 24?) You can rep someone again who you already repped.

(Man! My post here is extremely "Repetitiously repetitive!)
    hahaha!
