Default Is your secondary purpose to replicate?

I have been reading the book the mystery method.
    an excerpt:
While your primary purpose in life is to survive, your secondary purpose is to replicate.

Is your secondary purpose to replicate?

I feel my secondary purpose is to live the longest life possible, and my third purpose is to help my existing family members live a long and healthy life.

How can we understand that Mystery says that our secondary purpose is to replicate?

It's biological......simp le as, the need to reproduce is the strongest urge in life in all animals except to survive and in some animals it is even stronger than the will to survive. Humans over think stuff and can sort of overcome this but generally mystery is correct.

    Another excerpt:
    Fear of Rejection
To fully understand Approach Anxiety, we must first look at the ancient environment for which we are designed. In tribal times, only a small, select number of women in any given tribe were available for breeding. If a man approached one of them and then accidentally said or did something that conveyed a low or negative S-and-R value, he faced the real possibility of all the other women in the tribe eventually hearing about it. No longer believed to possess S-and-R value for any woman, the man would simply never mate, weeding his genes out of existence. This real-world social pressure extends so far back in humanity's past that we have evolved acutely sensitive mental mechanisms to protect ourselves from losing social value in this way.
Even though our logical minds tell us that laws protect us from reprisal and rejection in our modern social order, many great pickup artists agree: The fear of a cold approach never goes away. It's hard-wired into your brain. Confidence is not the objective. Competence is.

If you know CBT(cognitive-behavioral therapy), you will know that fear, like any other emotion, is created by your thoughts, not by any so called experience from ancient time. The thoughts are a result of social conditioning, a result which is from your interacting with your living environment. What Mystery said about approach anxiety is not true.

Really? If that's true then explain what instinct is? How do wildebeest know to run from lions when they see them?
To be fair I don't really see why your ripping into mystery, he created one of the most successful systems for dating women that exists, yes there are other systems around now but his methos is still fantastic and still works. Can u claim so much?

Approach Anxiety is an emotion, it is not an instinct. For example, 9 out of 10 people feel inferior or have ever felt inferior, the inferiority is an emotion, it is not an instinct.

I am not ripping into Mystery. I come from CBT background. When I learn new knowledge, I will compare its teachings with CBT, if It conforms to CBT, I can absorb the new knowledge easily, but if it doesn't conform to CBT, I feel difficult to absorb it and I need to harmonize.

An analogy here: If you are a Christian, what you believe is the Holy Bible, if what you are learning doesn't conform to the Holy Bible, you will know how you feel.

That's your opinion, mystery is claiming that the fear is an instinct in the same way that other animals have an instinct which causes fear. He's a evolutionist and is using that theory to explain Approach Anxiety. I think he's correct, being a biology student and an evolutionist myself.

I don't quite understand the analogy, I'm not a Christian and I don't understand how people can trust in a book that contains no real proof

Regarding what matter? The aa thing? Im doing a biology degree and have discussed this idea at length with many biologists and other scientists. I have no need of therapists.
And if your talking about the lack of faith in a book then nothing wil help me understand and I wil continue to see believers as naive

Regarding whether Approach Anxiety is an emotion which results from a person's thoughts/thinking or an instinct which is inherited from our ancestors.

Well it's a difference in opinion, I believe mystery is correct and have studied it quite a lot. Don't get me wrong it's all in your head because it's a completely needless belief now, rejection won't lead to you not breeding anymore. But I believe originally this is where that thought process comes from.
