Default MTV's Guy Code and Girl Code

Recently, I've been watching these shows on MTV that go hand in hand with each other. One show is Guy Code, the other is Girl Code. Guy Code is advice to men on how to operate around people and in certain situations, while Girl Code is the same thing meant for girls.

Since I have begun to watch the shows, I have actually learned a lot of interesting things. For example, on last night's Guy Code, they went through moving in with your girlfriend, and getting piercings. The advice on piercings was extremely solid (keep it on the lobes). The segment on moving in was actually very informative, and I had not looked into something like that yet. The end summary they came to was to not do it so soon in the relationship, and that when you do so, you need to properly address space and who's stuff goes where.

Girl Code is interesting because it gives you a very different take on the game. It allows you to see the game from a girl's perspective, and with both shows guys and girls commentate on the issues presented in the episode. It's also useful because in Girl Code, the female commentators will often talk about what they hope a man will do, or what they think is creepy and not creepy. It helps when trying to figure out how you should generally approach women, and it also helps when figuring out how you should help them or respond to their troubles.

The best part of the two shows, I believe, is that they are actually very funny. The humor in them keeps you entertained, and it keeps you listening.

Overall, I would recommend to everyone to watch the shows when you have a chance. You certainly won't be bored, and you also won't be learning nothing watching them.

I find the show is hilarious and the advice has been pretty sound, but take it with a grain of salt

    I like Swish's comment.

As we all know from having listened female advice before:
We learn what they want... Not what they REALLY want.

Remember that both the girl show and the guy show are written for men; it's trying to teach you how you're supposed to behave based on gender ideals that aren't always that realistic. The stuff they say women like might just be the stuff the show's designers want women to like, and applying it to real people may not always work so well.

They should call those shows FMBM (For Men, By Men). They're more entertainment than anything else. I wouldn't take ANY of it seriously. But maybe I'm a little young still for the advice to make sense.
