    Default Lifesyle/fashion advice!

Was an AFC up until recently and hung out with other AFC's. Don't really have a personal style or lifestyle. In other words, I don't know who I am - yuppie, hipster, clubber, preppy?

I feel this is hindering my confidence and girls pick up on that. Also, it would be easier to connect with certain girls if I dressed/acted a certain way.

What would you suggest? How do I get started?

I am in a similar situation. Something that has really made an impression on me is the idea that to become good with women you need to become your best self so that's what I have been focusing on. I have started working out regularly again, and I have been pushing my comfort zone when possible. I have also started to pursue learning some things I have always been interested in, and I have been reading a lot, some stuff on game, other stuff for material and some just out of my own interests. I guess in short my advice is to get out there and be active, take some action.

As for fashion I have just tweaked my style a bit since learning about game. I used to just be t shirts, jeans and sneakers, now its casual button downs a nice pair of jeans and a casual pair of shoes, I only where sneakers at the gym pretty much now. The change has been noticed by my friends and while some of the guys I know give me a hard time now and then for a particular shirt or pair of shoes, the girls say I look great. A price of fashion advice I really liked is that whenever you are clothes shopping, always buy something slightly out of your comfort zone. Make sure what ever you wear fits well too.

Just be interesting. If you aren't, take the steps to get there and at the very least you will definitely feel more confident and better about yourself. I know I do.

I've always noticed two routes to take regarding this.

Option 1. Pick a character and adopted his personality, his style, even the energy his body projects.

Option 2. This is a direction that no one to my knowledge other than me has taken. Make up your own character. I have a full report/biography on my personal character. It starts with you developing this person or alter ego. Write down who he is, what he wears, what he says, how he acts, what he thinks, what he drives, what he does for a living... EVERYTHING. Then become him.

Like I said, I wen't with option two. It takes time, and a lot of determination, but the rewards are amazing.

    Thanks for the replies fellas.

The thing is, right now I'm just a "normal guy". I dress like most other people out there (similar brands/look).

However, I find myself attracted to punk/rocker/scene/hipster girls. I listen to a lot of indie, dubstep/EDM and some alt rock. I'm wondering if I should change my look to represent this. What worries me is that if I do, then more "mainstream" girls would be harder to pick up.

    Ideas?

Mainstream as in "typical white girls" are subconsciously attracted to edgy men because of the sexual types they've read and fantasized about. So what it really breaks down to is, how good of a PUA are you? Not being someones type is a set back at the most.

My style isn't exactly punk, and it's nothing like hipster, but the majority of my wardrobe consist of dark colors. I like to utilize the mystery that clothing can project because that's part of my character.

    I like that, good answer.

I'm a corporate slave by day, so I can't lose that part of my image but I think I'll push the boundaries a bit by going for a bit of a more hipster/bohemian look.

We all have to wear different hats, just have to find a good balance between them.
