What do you tell hbs when they ask about work?

What do y'all say when a girl asks you what you do for a living?

I don't know bout y'all but I don't tell them the truth till usually the second meeting, not cause um ashamed of my work but cause I don't want to use my work to get laid.

yeah i have struggled with this one as how i make my money and my vocation do not always align. i do a fair bit of work for free for friends and i have money coming in from other areas. i have beliefs about what i sew is what i reap and such things and i live my life according to certain rules and structures.

i give very basic answers to things and demonstrate more the sort of person i am. because of who i am and what i do know, and who i know, i am privy to a lot of things that many arent. i sort of imply to her that i spend time with her for her and she is a chance to get away from my day to day things

i am a man. i dont need a woman to mother me about my career stuff. not at this stage. i am handling my vocational direction or living stuff fine. i hang out with her because i dig her and her energy and want to get away from it all with her for a little while

very much so, it has great S&R value and gives me great social proof. BUt like i said i dont want to abuse that.

You could also be very vague. For example, you can always say just the type of profession (internet, marketing, technology, law, etc).

The key is to be passionate about it and show that you have a desire to push yourself, so express what you love about it - without giving any real details.

thats what i try to do. I am extremly passonate about my work, and am extremly driven. However using my job to pick up women would get me up a sh1t creek in a heart beat!! So i try to draw stories out of it, and dhv with some of those storis and lead them to th conclusion of my profession. seems to work sometimes and sometimes they are to dingy to get it.

i think i can relate to a small extent except theres no reason for me to get in any sh1t other than i may look a wanker. i am a writer and i am sure many people think i am a man of leisure. i dont like talking about what i actually write as i enjoy a level of anonymity and that also allows me to keep writing as i do, saying the things i need to say.

i am sure many chicks or people think i am a cop, or some sort of agent when i start being circumspect and then i feel like i must be being a wanker. but they draw the conclusion not me, but i sort of allow them to.

this question has plagued me since i read neil strauss's book and started sarjing chicks. for a while i would say i was in health or engineering which were sort of true. now that i have left paid employment i can just say i am a writer though i dont really feel a need to pick up talking about work... i work when i work. if i am with a girl i dont really need to bring my work issues to her (not to impress and not because i am a baby who can't resolve my daily sh1t).

I do a bit of social minded volunteer work as well so i sometimes mention that, but its that very question of what do you do??? like we are defined by a role in society. i am there to pick up not define or justify my place in the machine by a title

if i dont give an answer to this and i if i do deliver it naturally, whether i want to use my role in the pick up or not, well how we breeze through this question is very important as to whether we get a look in or not. or it may not be. all relative and depends upon my game and how i am playing it

i guess i have some sets that are just a writer, or whatever... i spose i have a few sets or plays for hitting this question

yeah i hear you man... whatever your own private business is. i guess this sort of situation gives us an opportunity to start making our own "game"

we are in a position not many people get to or have ever even imagined. we enjoy a level of anonymity that allows us not only to make ourselves up as we wish to be but the world around us, too

right now if a HB asks me about work or study i would have to tell her i have a lot to do but aint doing much cos i spend a lot of time sarging
