Default Help PUAs! I'm a tall guy and need some fashion advice! :)

    Hey fellas,

I'm 6ft 5" and I am shit when it comes to fashion. Apart from the one or two items I have I generally wear shit clothing. So what sort of clothes make a tall guy such as myself look good?

Now i'm generally ready now to go out and really push my fashion boundaries, so expect many crazy stupid looking clothes until I find the right fit :P

But please, any advice would be awesome! I've asked loads of girls, and they all respond with river island. Yeah, quite a nice place but too expensive to go for general wear.

    Cheers,
    Finchy x

    >< Because it's worth it ><

whenever you go into a store, spot the cutest girl who works there and open, from there establish that you are not good at fashion at all, which she MAY think is cute or think nothing of it, because after all she doesnt know you that well anyway. then kind of guide her to understanding that you need her help as a fashion consultant, even have her check you out every now and then when you step out of the dressing room

    this way,
    -youre having fun
-youre establishing rapport with a girl already!
-youre getting fashion material from a potential target

okay, well im like 5'10" or 11, anyways, it also depends on the physique (skinny/ mascular/ fat etc) if you are skinny or mascular i would use (and i use), slim fit jeans, a nice shoes (the one which are used with suits sort of), and a nice striped shirt or plain which is untucked and long sleeved but the sleeve is than placed to half my arms (also slim fitted), usually a necklace (casual ones), and a belt (black mostly but depends on colour of jeans and shirt)
i use the above (smart casual) for certain occasions but when i wanna go just a night out with m8s i use a slim fit jeans (shorts), shoes : converse (or something similar) and a polo shirt short sleeved with a casual necklace

i also agree 100% with Pierrot..

It really does depend on physique, but follow Pierrot's idea. That's definitely the best way to find out, and get over some aa.

How are you built? Skinny goes one way, heavy another way and fit a third way. That being said, you usually can't go wrong with a button down shirt and jeans or slacks. The issue you will run into is finding sleeves that work for you...believe me I know. Buckle has good stuff for tall guys, just make sure that the shirts are long enough. A good rule of thumb imo is the front of your shirt needs to cover around 3/4 of your zipper when you are standing straight. much less and you'll ride up in the back when you are sitting and much longer and it'll look like like you are wearing someone else's clothing.

That said...I agree with the other guys, easiest way is to find the prettiest girl in the store and ask her opinion. Barring any other help stick with black, white and grey until you get a better feel for what works with your skin and the like.

Good luck and I hope you get a number out of your shopping trip.

Pierrot nailed it. Dont ask here. Go to 10 clothing stores and pick the most attractive girl and ask away.

6'4 here. Let me help you out with some advice I learned over the years (I've been tall for a while).

First off, jeans are your best friends. Find a pair of jeans that fits you well and buy at least 3 or 4 pairs of them. You don't want skinny jeans or slim fit, they'll just accentuate your long legs which is the last thing you want. Girls like tall guys, but if you walk around looking like you're malnourished its a big turn off. Go for boot cut or straight fits. If you have trouble finding your size, shop online straight from the manufacturer, they sell sizes they don't offer in stores.

Have a few pairs of nice tailored pants. Key word there is tailored. You're going to want them to look good on your body and chances are they won't straight off the rack, so go get them fitted. Same goes for suits, if you need one make sure it fits your body type. Find a good tailor, they'll know what to do.

Shirts can vary based on your style. Aim for shirts that give your shoulders a little definition, button downs and jackets do that well. I personally love button downs, very versatile. If you've got some muscles, show them off with a athletic fit shirt. Nothing skin tight, you want it to just sort of sit on your skin. If you are skinny, which is a real possibility (I was), I would again have to say button downs but leave them unbottoned, it makes you look bigger. To be honest, the shirts you can do a lot with and it really just comes down to personal choice. This is where you could use that clothing advice opener.

Here's a great article about this. Taught me a lot.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming “WOW...What a Ride!”
