Default Thoughts about creating "The Game" into a movie

Hey guys, just thought I would ask around and see what your thoughts were about Neil Strauss' novel The Game being in production for a movie. Do you think it will effect us in the bars when girls see it or do you think it will go under the radar?

I think it'll affect us if it turns into a blockbuster movie, when you use lines and tactics similar to the ones in the movie. I don't know how "The Pick-Up Artist" (1987, I think) affected PUA's back in the day. It's different now too, I guess. Youtube and Facebook could spread these things like wildfire. Although I think it would be an awesome movie, it's better left unattended. I wouldn't want my neighbour, his son, and so on to be in the scene as well. It's current size has a certain charm. Although I know it's bigger in thr US thanks to Mystery's VH1 show (never seen that).

I'm mixed about it. I'm not really a fan of it being made into a movie because there was something "special" about accidentally stumbling into all this when someone happened to suggest I read "The Game". At the same time, I think it would benefit more people out there if they learned about this stuff...not necessary for the lines and routines, but for the change in mentality and developing "inner game" that I feel is really important to master.

I usually relate my journey in PUA to my journey in blackjack card counting when I did it...like witnessing PUA in action for the first time, watching my mentor go from a $100 hand to a $700 hand with back-to-back blackjacks was like watching magic. After I mastered counting, the movie "21" came out and suddenly the casinos were filled with wanna-be card counters trying to live up the high-life of the movie. They were easy to spot, and most of them failed--miserably--because they didn't put the time and effort into learning all the important details in order to master the game. It takes many many hours of practice and mental focus to not only learn the techniques to card counting/advantage play, but to control the emotional highs and lows that usually make people regress into gamblers. Just like it takes a lot of time and mental focus to keep a PUA Mindset and keep the former AFC habits in check.

When the movie comes out, I'd expect a flood of people to go out and try out the techniques who haven't really mastered the real inner game that makes it all possible. They'll probably be easy to spot. It might make some women more aware of the tactics, but honestly if you've really taken the time to master PUA it shouldn't really matter.

I wouldn't want it to be a movie. PUA is what drives me forward, it is like a temple, it is my mojo, it is what improved me, it is what made me the person I am today.

If published, the general public is filled with people who cant see other peoples perspectives. Instead of looking at PUA as something which help men and make them better, they would view it as weapon used it on women. (Pretty sure you've seen this discussion on tv)

The scene is already good, its size is round about perfect. Information is mostly correct and accurate. People are good and mostly everyone is helping one another.

What would happen is, a lot of wannabes would come. Slow down the total movement, post their own theories that has no field testing etc etc.

And the media would definitely feed info to the women that people who read PUA and practice it are all sly, cunning, degenetory schmucks. The feminism bandwagon will definitely see PUA as a threat and start their own campaign against us. {I AM ACTUALLY LAUGHING MY ASS OFF, IMAGINE WOMEN ON THE STREET SCREAMING "STOP PUA, DEATH TO PUA" xd)

    My thoughts are this man.

I think it would be a really interesting movie, as this industry is still somewhat underground (not nearly as much anymore). But if it did, the keyboard jockies on these websites would be completely exposed, and no longer would they have the ability to use weird "game techniques" to trick drunk girls into thinking they are cool, and sleeping with them. I think it would force people to actually create a sustainable, happy lifestyle to get women, and learn actual social acuity. It could be good for society, because people would be forced to work on themselves, and actually transform how to properly communicate. Not weird little phases and this textbooky technique gimmick stuff.. but actually *gasp* learn to connect with another human being.

    LIFESTYLE YOU'RE FUCKING CRAZY

Oh I know, I know. To actually change your life and improve yourself.. not just use one liners and AMOG'S and BF destroyers to get girls? That's...just... not possible... is it?

Well, you may be forced to learn whether you like it or not my friends. May actually have to become higher value yourself in order to get a higher value woman if this movie exposes all of this stuff.

It's not a good idea for it to be made into a movie. If it is being done it's only to make money. I think it would have a negative effect on the PUA community. Suppose, I'm fishing at a pond and I use specific methods to get lots of fish then they show a movie teaching other guys how to use similar methods to catch a lot of fish. What happens next is I have competition and even if I go to another pond everyone still knows how to catch fish now because of that movie so I'm screwed. Now I have more competition and have to settle for whatever fish are left over that happen to take my bait. Same thing here.

Seeing as it's a stupid book, it would probably make a stupid movie... but I'm sure people would go. That being said, it's a stupid book that I've read about 10 times and am re-reading it now just to make sure I've identified how stupid it is. Because back in the day, I couldn't even keep up with it.

I'm not sure I need a "triple stacked pattern." I think that's just too complicated and unnecessary.
