New here, but have been researching and visiting sites like this for a few months. Not really in it to become a PUA, just sharpening the dating skills.
After an announcement from the ex-wanting a divorce, a year and a half of pain and getting everything sorted out, I finally started working on myself for once. Back to the gym like pre-marital life, etc.
Over 40 and divorced with young kids is a scary place to be after 12 years off the market. I have used dating sites to meet women +/- my age range. For background, I live in the metro D.C. area. Every single date with women close to my age feels like an interrogation after the first few minutes.So much baggage and resentment, even if you pre-screen. That and the Oprah-fication (best word I could think of) of their self worth is over the top.
Maybe it's the D.C. area too.
No more dating sites.
I do want to tell others who may have found themselves in similar circumstances at the same age, it ain't over. I know, because I decided to "go younger" and have just started seeing someone in their early 20's. Don't know how far it will go, but I can tell you this: at least younger women actually want to have fun, not see if you can be their second source of income when they get divorced again!
