Also I should put on here, to mystique, and everyone else. I do not mind criticism. We all have things we need to work out, I actually appreciate the extra learning about myself

    Cheers

That's healthy. Yes, we are always learning. As long as it's constructive criticism, it's a good thing.

I'm working to develop my confidence and presence. The biggest thing is to stop apologizing so much. When I received the negative response from my friend, my initial reaction was to apologize. The whole thing of, 'oh, how dare I express a romantic or horror of horrors a sexual interest in you, please forgive me'. Fortunately I didn't react that way (on the outside anyway) and I have a lot more respect for myself that I didn't.

In fact you did the right move here by trying. To not even attempt is the kind of mistake that keeps you up at night wondering what could've been. Trust me,knowing that it wouldn't have worked is a much better feeling.

I'm not sure how confident you are at social events but being introverted can work in your favor big time... when in a group discussing a topic, utilise your silence (and thinking time) to create mystery. Then ocassionally make a comment that is thoughtful/deep/funny... it unsettles the blabbermouths and those who are clamoring for attention and draws the awe (depending on how profound you want to go) and attention of whomever you desire.

Recharge with a run. Then you get a better body as well, 2 birds one stone.
