| They are semi-tailored to the person but sometimes its just damned hard to say something interesting to someone who has a relatively empty profile. Oh and some information about me, im 26, average to good looking and have way more success in getting dates in broad daylight than online. I'm just curious what you think is good or bad about these few opening emails. |

| Dash I could definitely give you big pointers on the emails you write. I actually spend most of my time writing about these things for a living. Your main issue in the first email is you ask way to many questions. This holds two things against you. You come off as needy by asking so many questions. This will be an attraction killer. Always limit yourself to one or two questions. Second, more then a couple questions makes it tough to respond. online dating can get busy and we don't want her to feel like she is doing homework. | your examples are AFC with a side of needy-ness, those messages are too long, keep it 1-2 lines max, you dont want to give the girl you talking to that interview feeling and the " I'd like to chat with you more" part is completely unnecessary also you need a catchy subject line, that will raise up the chances of her reading your email

| Can you please give some examples of good 2-line first emails? Also, what sort of thing should i be looking to put for my profile description? Should it be similarly short? Such as: |

To answer your questions, I am a big believer that canned email responses don't work. They come across as generic and spam which is usually an instant delete. Girls can spot these a mile away. What's important is getting into a habit of scanning profiles for good information, then writing emails that use attraction principles, while including combinations of no more than two questions with a comment or two thrown in. Although that is just the very basics, there is a ton of stuff within this advice that applies. As far as your profile statement, your profile should not be short like your emails. You want to give an entire window into who you are as a person while building attraction in the process, and making it interactive. Your quote above would be a good way to close out the profile as an ending. Def implies some good demand. Last edited by JP1223; 02-08-2011 at 10:35 AM. Reason: typo |

| Hello everyone. I am on a dating site and I have been using this message as a first email to women: "My friends say that I move too fast, but I am going to go out on a limb here! Will you marry me? Oops, I meant to say hi! :-)" | |||||||||||||||||||||||
