The Number Close and The Date?

If any of you are like me when it comes to using the online dating sites, you want to take your conversation off the site as quickly as possible and move it to a more real medium. Unfortunately, I haven't had the best luck with the Number Close. I'd say I get numbers about 10-20% of the time I ask for them, which doesn't seem that great. Even if the online conversation is flowing smoothly, as soon as I try to make the transition to the phone, I get blocked. I'll generally ask for a number after 2-3 messages. Should I wait longer? Is there a well-known and effective way to ask? Overall, I feel pretty good about catching a girl's interest online. I just have the hardest time Escalating things to a real in-person date.

If they're messaging you, go sooner and don't give them yours (you don't know if they're a spam bot or something). If you're messaging them, you're either asking to soon or fuçking it up.

Who is messaging who?

I can't say this is a rule, just a thought in my head. Unless they show interest, you probably aren't going to get numbers.

Online is more difficult, IMO, because one of its inherent qualities is giving users the advantage of "selection" prior to being able to fully demonstrate your value. They're not selecting you, and hiding behind the protection online dating sites provide from having to engage who you don't want.

So you're either screwing it up in one or two messages, asking too soon, or your profile isn't dhv enough to get them interested. Most likely a combination of all three.

I can look, but I'd probably not be the person to ask. I only just started experimenting with online dating. I've been afraid of it and am pretty green with it.

I usually send my number and ask for her number after the first 1 or 2 emails and she usually sends me her number or ends up calling me. If they like you they will go for it.

Easy problem.

"Let's chat on the phone sometime. Send me your number and I'll call you."

Unfortunately, it seems like a lot of women are scared to "talk on the phone" to a stranger. I always try to get a number by my third message exchange. To be honest, I have too much crap to do and it almost always works. If it doesn't, who cares. online dating websites are a meat market.
