I am in my 40's and been back in the dating game for three years. I met this girl and we went to dinner. Evening was nice and she seemed to have a good time. A few days later I asked her over for dinner and she accepted.
She came over and it started great. Some times during conversation she got a blank look and stared off elsewhere. I think I was losing her, or possibly said too much.
The things really went bad. I over cooked dinner. The steak was very well done. And while I was working on something else I forgot about the potato's. They were overcooked too. She seemed to laugh about it. Anyway it was after 10 that we finished eating.
Since it was Sunday (last night) we both had to work today. So she said she hated to eat and run, but needed to go. And she left. As she was leaving I asked about going out again and she said sure, call me.
Well needless to say I didn't get a good vibe. I like her and would like to continue to get to know her. I don't want to come across pushy or needy or anything.
I thought about sending her a text today. Tell me what you think?
"Hey, (her name) need some advice, I had dinner with this great girl last night. Do you have any advice for how I can continue to get to know her?"
Is that too cheesy?
