Default Contact with a cold lead

Long story short, about a month ago I went to a dance club with a female friend who actually went out of her way to be my wingman without me saying anything. We began talking to these two girls who were there, and we went inside to dance. One of them was a real troll, but her friend was gorgeous. The hotter friend, Amy, and I did a bunch of dancing, and from time to time she'd go up to my wingwoman and ask if she was my gf, or if I was single. Basically the wingwoman told me that Amy was crazy about me. At the club they played that song "Call Me Maybe", and at the end of the night I said to her "Hey I just met you, and this is crazy, but let me get your number, I'll call you maybe". She immediately grabbed my phone and put her number in.

That was Friday - On Sunday I texted her to see if she wanted to get drinks and go to another dance party. She said she and her roommate (The troll that was with her on Friday) were having family over, but she said she might be free the next weekend. The Thursday after I sent her a text, and she never responded. She just went cold.

My question is this - The wingwoman and I were talking today, and I mentioned I was at the bar that I met Amy at. She asks me whatever happened to this girl, who was making it clear she was super into me. I told her what happened, but I was wondering if there's any chance this could be rekindled. So my question is, should I pursue her still? What should I text to get her interest piqued?

What exactly did you text her? If you were too needy/clingy/annoying/or boring she could disqualify you faster than she throws away a used tampon.. Women are like that..

Well the place we met at was insanely hot inside, and we were sweating up a storm. It was so bad the place set up giant water coolers for people to get cool down drinks.

I don't have the text handy, but it was something along the lines of asking if she was still alive, since she kept complaining about being dehydrated from dancing so much.

Nope, I just said that to describe why I said what I did. When we met we were joking about how hot it was, how sweaty we were, etc.

Probably good to partially explain the joke if her reading it could be misinterpretted as clingy/ needy.

True. And this is the perfect reason why I'm on the fence about trying to get my game better, or opt out of dating for the time being. I live in NYC, home of the FWF (Fickle Western Female) who will flake out faster than you can imagine. Only these types could be freaking out about you one night, then another night going NC because you texted something that wasn't funny/interesting/clear.

I don't know that that's so specific to NYC, though (dunno, tho, I haven't lived in a lot of cities). You and I are more beginners than some of the legends of the PUA world. So we are naturally going to struggle at this point in time.

There are probably several things that you can do to keep a positive attitude.
    1. understand that there are always back up plans. Things are not do or die. You can get into a profession or activity where the men are hugely outnumbered by the women, if such a persuit would make you happy without the women as "part of the pie" for example.
    2. understand that the grass always seems greener, when it's not. Relationships take time. I don't think a One Night Stand is that enjoyable, personally (I may be in the minority here, tho).
    3. Have proper goals. My goal right now is to have some options, women-wise. (I actually don't see a ton of value in setting my sites much beyond that. Yes you can get into good spots but there is no holy grail. With the sweet comes the sour.) More specifially, I don't want to have to just "settle" some day.
