Alright, so I'm a few weeks into Freshman year, meeting all new people, yadda yadda. I started seeing this girl around campus, but never really met her. Before I had actually met/introduced myself to her, I had caught her sneaking glances in a few situations.
-in the gym (1st time, casual)
-dining hall (staring at me, sharp look-away when I caught her)
-outside of a party.. probably not as significant but she did say "hi!"; an opportunity to introduce myself that I stupidly wasted
so... fast forward a few weekends. Opportunity came again in the hall of a frat, where I introduced myself and had her come into a friend's room where we were drinking (both of us were already drinking). I didn't want to be too forward, so I didn't have her sit on my lap (armchairs). A mutual friend took that opportunity to share a seat with her, but when he left with a different girl I sat with her. We had really good conversation with each other and other people, but for some reason or other she stood up and sat near another guy who started to try his luck (she wasn't interested). This confused me a lot, and I didn't pursue it that night anymore.
The next time I saw her was two weekends later in the library - I was walking up the stairs and she yelled my name and ran behind me, talking about how she was wondering why she never saw me around campus and how she'd been looking out for me but we never ran into each other. Ironically the "other" guy from the frat walked by without a word said.
When she was leaving the library, she came and talked to a girl sitting near me and we briefly talked, she told me how I would finish my work soon because I'm smart or something.. pretty casual
I guess what I'm asking is whether you guys think she's just being nice, or should I pursue her? She is the best looking girl in her dorm and it seems like a lot of people try their luck without any success - I've heard she has a particular taste in guys though (which could include me).
What do you think?
