Thumbs up All true, disqualifier-qualifier opening text.

I decided to take a new approach to my online opener. I open with a brutally honest and even a bit overblown list of disqualifiers. I list everything obvious about me and my life that someone might find objectionable. I even through in some things which they would never know about me and sound negative at first but foreshadow my perserverence and tenaciousness. They give me a bad boy image too! A disqualifier, and yet if they can get past the opener I know they are ok with dating an older, overweight, married, alpha male. Then after I get the crap out of the way I dhv up the wazoo! I have only tried this once but it worked better than any opener I have ever used. I got an Instant number and real name with almost a beg to text her. She initiated sexting and sent me nude photos within 24 hours. This from someone that said in her ad that she was engaged and specifically said she was not interested in Sexting or nude pics etc. LOL
    Check this out!

    Me:
Let me tell you about myself. I am overweight, I snore like a power saw, I am somewhat narcissistic. I am a high school dropout, I am a recovering drug addict, I have spent time in jail. I have an unfortunate tendency to send angry sarcastic emails to my superiors at work. The only reason they don't fire me is because I'm very good at my job and they know they can't find anyone to replace me. I've been married for 20 years and date girls half my age. My wife knows this, and doesn't like it but too bad! If she doesn't like it she can leave.
So now you know all the bad sh1t about me.
    Here's the good stuff:
I am tall and stocky and handsome. Did I mention I'm also very humble? LOL! I like to sing, and tell stories and be the center of attention. I am fairly intelligent. I went back to school and made a good career for myself and I'm a successful, respected professional in my business. I decide what I want to do in life and I make it happen. I have already checked off a lot of my career goals.
I have been drug free for over a decade.
I do volunteer work and am the president of a local charitable organization.
My friends know they could call me any time of the day or night and I would move heaven and earth to help them.
I am romantic and am a very sweet, tender, gentle, lover and get no complaints from my lovers if you know what I mean!
I am very good at fixing things. I repair my own home, cars, electronics and anything else that breaks.
I like the outdoors and spend the summer motorcycling, boating, hiking and camping.
In the winter I work on remodeling projects and restoring my Corvette.
    How about you? Lol
    (My first name)

Her reply (a few minutes later):
Woah okay! Lol well my names (real first name) I'm I'm 23 I'm not going to lie I'm doing absolutely nothing with my life right now except being a mother to my 2 year old daughter and working at a bar. I love horror movies and some action. I love punk and alt. Rock. But other than that you'll have to learn as we go but just keep in mind I'm either as sweet as a carebear or as ruthless as all Capone text me please I'm very intrigued by you thus far (phone number)

I had to break her of that Capone crap right away. She started giving me negs and I went silent for 12 hours. She promised to be a good girl from then on.

Eh, I'm not sure with the whole thing. I mean no offence but in my OPINION this is quite beta and not showing too much alpha. I'm not a big fan of disqualification personally because bringing yourself down and showing you have low value isn't going to attract many people and it's fact.

I'm all up for honesty because I believe that's vital but in reference to the story of Bluebeard it's not the best thing in the world to let a woman have all keys to your mind. In other words: don't tell her your life story, she will find things out later. You should allow some room for mystery and intrigue. I mean I'm overweight myself and know what its like but I never mention it and if people mention it I laugh it off and just keep being awesome.

Good on you though for hooking her, it was well done (plus a rock girl, that's good work in my opinion) and I liked the way you actually do neg her and tease. I'm just surprised as this breaks a lot of key rules in pick up like I have never thought of going up to a girl at a club and going "Hey, I'm an overweight guy but I like you and honest enough to tell you everything wrong about me" in fact you should be the complete opposite lol. Oh well, not judging you because I believe everyone has a game that works well for them but adaptability is important.

    Well done again.

Good feedback! I was thinking of more funny stuff like the snoring. That one is an over exaggeration. I also think the audience is important too! I should have mentioned this was a Craig's list ad I was replying to. Might not be as effective on OK Cupid.
I agree that this would bomb in a night club. I think part a is very alpha. Yes, I soften in part b with the tender lover bit. Think that's too weak? I like it because it creates contrast and depth to my personality. You need darkness to show light. I hope to hear more critiques on this.

i'm not sure this works - but it won't hurt to try it 20x times over and see... u could be the next Mystery... lol

the general routine is to open - pua - and leave quickly on a high note... talking too much kills ur mystery and u may say something offensive -- not to mention she is not at the point in knowing u so well that she can digest ur humor.

Update: I tried this on 9 more targets and it was 1 for 10. Just random luck the first time I guess!
I have scrapped most of this but have been trying bits and pieces. I also have continued to text with the one that bit on this to try to figure out why it worked on her.

I think a key is remembering this is online, where I guess people are more inclined to read big long profiles.

Overall, maybe you did got a little HAM on the disqualifiers. Though I also agree that used properly disqualifies can make you a bad ass, depends how you role with them. I once told a target that I flunked a class in high school, she was shocked but seemed like she took it the right way. It's really all about the presentation

Interestingly enough, this is exactly what many leading Online Dating Gurus tell people to do (with exception to the positive dhv portion at the end, but I guess throwing in the positive after the silly negative would make sense... for psychological reasons). If I remember correctly, they say stay away from too much straight DHV type stuff in online profiles because too many others are already doing it and it comes across as another guy trying to sell himself. Instead, use silly disqualifiers in such a way that the reader cannot tell whether or not you're serious, but at the same time, make it also sound too straight forward and specific to be made up. In other words, tell truths about your flaws - but in an interesting and funny way.

    ALSO:

The leading online profile gurus strictly encourage keeping your profile short and to the point. If possible, I think they even suggested leave them wondering and wanting to know more. I'm just a messenger here. I'm no Online Dating or texting expert of any type (although I'm sure I'm probably very slightly better than average) so what you see is me (paraphrasing and) telling you what some of the experts have instructed.
