I met this HB7-8 who lives in my friend's building in the lobby Saturday night. We were talking in a group and I didn't speak directly to her, but we made a lot of eye contact and smiled back and forth.
Later that night I ran into her at a LOUD party and she said hi and we talked very briefly then she went to look for her friends. Not long after I began to scan the crowd for her.
I eventually found her, and much to my own surprise I found myself making my way through the crowd, putting my hand on her shoulder, and asking her if she'd like to dance. She said yes, and told me she was glad I had found her. We danced/loitered for a half hourish perhaps and then she seemingly lost interest and we both left with different friends.
Then another hour later she texted one of the girls that I had left with saying that I was cute and asked her to pass me along her number.
What I SHOULD have done is probably shot her a text some while (>1 hour) after I acquired her number saying 'hey it's ****** from the party. heres my number. I'll catch ya later'
Instead I waited until 8pm the next night (sunday) to text her. Worse yet, my first text was a dull "hey" with no punctuation. I wasn't on my game for some reason. The rest went as follows:
Her: Hey! Who is this?
Me: I'm ****** from the party last night
Her: Oh hi! How did the rest of your night go?
Me: Not too exciting. We went to pick up more booze, then went back to the dorm to watch a movie. How bout yours?
Her: Well my friend ended up not feeling well so we went back to the dorm and ate. Not too exciting. That's cool what movie did you watch?
Me: I'm not sure what it was called. I actually don't remember very much about it at all. Some girl here turned it on.
>Then I didn't get a response from her after that, so I waited until today (tuesday) at noonish and said "hey there :P" I didn't get a response at all this time.
I do see what I did wrong, but do you think I should try to recover, let it go, or save it for later. I'm not really invested in this, but she was quite cute .
