Please let me know how this sounds. A woman told me it sounds like it's trying too hard - but she claimed that basically any semblance of humor sounds trying.

My self-summary
If it was up to me, we'd have a piggyback ride shuttle service in place of Septa. Wouldn't that be awesome? Less traffic jams, far more giggling, and cheaper rates for chiropractors 'cause everyone would need one. Pretty sure that's what the American forefathers had in mind for Philadelphia.

Okay, so maybe it's not a perfect plan. Something else that isn't perfect? My pinky toe nails. They're ugly and a little cracked. Also, my chest hair grows in spirals and causes fits of dizziness... at least, I hope it does as then I could sell tickets.

On the upside, I'm pretty good at evoking seizures when I play a drum set - what could be more important? Strangely, a lot of people equate dancing to having a fit in public.

What Iím doing with my life
I worked as a cruise ship drummer for a few years so I could completely fund grad school. Now I'm working on an MFA in film directing and screenwriting. I eventually want to hold three careers at the same time -- play in a funk/jazz quintet by night, teach at a university by day, and make films in the summers. Figured I ought to enjoy what I do for a living.

Other stuff I like and/or do a lot:

Harass inanimate objects (doesn't everybody...?)
Watch the derelict across the street rave in gibberish at 2am
Practice playing piano
Try the weirdest thing on the menu -- like Peruvian guinea pig
Exploring the city on foot
Shoot pool
Stay up unnecessarily late at night to enjoy the peace and quiet
Play hockey on rollerblades
Attend theater/art/comedy/music events
'Bring it' with P90X workouts
Ache for days because I 'brought it' with P90X workouts
Play poker, chess, and other similar games

Iím really good at
I think starting a profile section with "I'm really good at" is like starting a story with "This one time when I was in Mexico..."

The first things people usually notice about me
Probably that they can't tell if I'm joking or not. If I seem aloof in a building and someone asks if I need help, I'm likely to respond with something like: "No, no... I'm just thinking of buying this place."

You should message me if
You can hold your own when it comes to playful teasing and challenging repartee, and are looking to talk about the world with someone who also notices the beauty/humor/horror/irony in it.

You'd care to shoot a game of pool, watch a live band, check out the art museum (haven't seen it yet, regrettably), or share a loaf of banana bread while walking around the Old City or Penn's Landing.
