    Default Example: Online number close

So I got a pof a couple weeks ago and got my first Number Close. I decided to try the online thing again after hearing about the success Two Nine had. I must say...I think my profile ROCKS but I don't get many messages from women that I don't open first (I've gotten 4-5 so far). However; My success rate for responses on women I open is about one out of three. I'm thinking that's pretty good.

I would like to thank Twenty-Nine for the help and the number close line. I would also like to thank T-Mal for the template of the opening message and I used a few of his lines in my profile (although my profile is 95% my material). You guys rock!

This is a 7.5 that has ALLOT of things that I look for in a woman. I was playful but I was VERY sweet with her because I threw in a sweet line in the second message and picked up on the fact that she liked that sort of thing. Notice her HEAVELY qualifying herself in the last message before I went for the number close (HUGE hint to go for the n-close guys)! I added a few comments of the interaction in red.

    me: Heya nerd-ball!

So you're saying you won't bait MY hook for me?! ;o) She mentions in her profile that she needs a guy that can bait his own hook, but she is capable of baiting her own.

You live in a nice town. There's nothing better than fishing the gitch! If you haven't experienced it you are TRULY missing out.

I hope you're staying warm (It's finally supposed to get above 15 degrees)!

    - (My name)

Her: So in your profile you state that you say hi or hey guurrrl and not expect anything else? So is that your plan to have girls think that and then you send ones like this to make girls feel a little special

Me: Woah! A woman that ACTUALLY reads someone's profile?! I thought all you women just looked at pictures! ;o)

Ahhh you're such a sweetheart! I could tell that from your eye's and smile. I'm happy I put a smile on your face with my message. Your message DEFINITELY made me smile.

Her: Haha. I do read them ... Just looking at pictures doesn't do much .

Me: I am very curious about something. Tell me what you were doing in Florida! You better have gone fishing in the ocean when you were there. Fishing in the ocean is the BEST!

Although I would LOVE to continue to talk to you right now...I DO have responsibilities that I must attend too. I don't have internet at my house, so I'm not on here every day. Bear with me. (These first few messages were in about an hour and a half the same day)

    - (My name)

Her: I was there for 3 1/2 years. I went to Aveda institute there and worked. It was just to get away and do a fresh start.
I fished every weekend, all over Florida it's my favorite thing to do.

I might be able to bear with ya.

    Talk to you soon

Me: So you do things the Aveda way! :-P I always get my hair cut at beauty schools. You can get the best, or worst hair cut there anytime you walk in the door (just like great clips, but cheaper)! Its QUITE the adventure. ;o) (I love it when a girl goes to beauty school because the woman I've had the longest relationship with went to one when we were dating. This allows me to relate and I ACTUALLY have knowledge of this stuff. Plus you should go there too. They NEVER see guys there and ALL the women get SUPER excited when a younger, confident guy walks in the door!)

I wouldn't say fishing is MY favorite thing to do, but I do live on a lake, and go about 90 days a year, so its definitely up there!

You have a very unique personality if you love to fish AND you are a hairstylist. I like that combination of girlishness and outdoorsy nature. :-)

Her: That's awesome you live on the water. My goal for the future for sure so I can fish whenever I please (Light qualification)

And yes I love to have my girly side but definitely have an outdoors side as well.
Not high maintenance but I do have my nails always done and love to be pampered (REALLY BIG qualification)

Does not stop me from getting outdoors though and it won't phase me if I " ruin " or " break " a nail . (REALLY BIG qualification)

    Haha.
I ammmm quite unique. But no one can complain because I'm always up for anything not picky. (REALLY BIG qualification)

I also noticed that she started to copy my writing style of breaking up text into smaller blocks. This is REALLY subtle but if you notice her first message it's not like this. The more we talk, the more she mirrors this.

Me: I really enjoy living on a lake. I'm from XXXXXXX but I go to school in XXXXXX and I've lived on a lake up here a couple years. The fishing is outstanding! The last two summers I worked for the DNR fisheries in XXXXX so I lived at my cabin on XXXXX lake too. I'm spoiled. ;o) (Telling her about myself a little more. This builds more comfort)

That is a VERY unique combination you have. I really like the fact that you are very feminine, yet you are up for anything. I can also tell you have a spunky side that you don't mention in your profile but it's TOTALLY noticeable in your eyes.

I'm not on here very often and you seem pretty cool. We can text like normal people if you want. You aren't the crazy stalker type are you? ;o)

Her: Not a stage 5 no worries ...
    XXX-XXX-XXXX :-)

Boom! 5 messages and a number!

Nice post, this is a good reference. I like the way you phrased the n-close - you introduce the idea of her giving it to you without actually asking for it.

You might be reading a little too deeply into her with the analysis regarding blocks of text. People usually start a new block when they change topic. Her first 2 messages only have one topic, so there was no need for her to make a new one. Her third reply had 2 blocks, but this time the situation actually called for it, as she had one block to talk about her location and another to respond to your temporary absence.

Aside from that, this is pretty smooth.

Just like I said, 19 times out of 20, her next message is some variation of qualifying "Nope, I'm not a stalker!" and then her number. Almost an exact science

Glad to see you having some success with it, man. It's fun to see a message that starts with a T-Mal style opener and my Number Close line lol. Nicely done.

I can't take any credit for that Number Close line. I got that from TwentyNine.

I agree with you that I MIGHT be looking too much into the blocks of text. I didn't even notice the difference until I was writing this thread, and made a connection. I could be right or wrong but it doesn't matter.

@ Two nine. Thanks man. I've been messing around with your advice and T-Mals. I've found the best thing is adding a mix between the two and adding my own flavor to it. It's congruent with my profile and my personality.

The thing is, if you follow these templates and advice to a T, and it's not congruent to your profile, you wont get far. Even if you DO get her on a date she will find a TOTALLY different person and it won't go anywhere. The key is to use the concept and adapt it to your personality. Not copy stuff word for word. Cheers!

    Right on man!
That's totally how I developed my style.

I took ideas & techniques from several people & added my own personal touch, so that it fit my own personality.

That way, it doesn't feel like I'm working hard at all, & there's never really anything to "memorize".

When you can incorporate "YOU" into your own style, it's gonna become natural & more fun.

Spot on. You should NEVER have to memorize anything. In online game or real life. Guys get too analytical on saying the right things and doing the "right" things. It really comes down to being yourself and grasping REALLY broad concepts, then taking those concepts and adapting them to YOU. Be the man you are and stop worrying about the outcome!

That's exactly it, Direct. The only line I use repeatedly is my Number Close, and I made it myself lol.. I throw it in when the time is right. Once you go through the whole online convo thing enough times it starts to just flow naturally.. It's all confidence. Confidence makes room for natural creativity.

Sometimes I don't realize how good something was that I sent until I re-read it. It all just happens in the moment now
