Alright, a little backstory. I met her at a drama group. It's not exactly that social and I rarely did work with her due to the way the group is played out. Over the past few months, I've become a lot more interested in her. In the chances I get, I'm a bit chatty with her and such and try a light bit of Kino, which she's fine with. Anyway, so drama group ends for the summer and I waited a couple of weeks to send my first message over FB:
Me: Hey you How have your holidays been so far? x
Yes, I know... Bland as a basket of bricks. I was trying to think of something more exciting, a nickname or something, but nothing was piecing together... I kind of figured it was better to be a basic bitch with confidence than a colossal try-hard. She was offline when I sent it. When I check in the next day, I notice that she's been online and has neither replied or even "seen" my message. I check my phone every now and then and notice that she comes online every few hours and yet still hasn't even "seen" it. I figure that she's just ignoring it, until the next day, as I'm working, she responds:
Her: Hey (big smiley face) Not bad thanks, been away in cornwall for a bit, what about you?
It pops up on my phone. I didn't open up FB messager, and I didn't respond for a couple of hours to make it seem like I was a bit busy (a little bit of casual dhv)...
Me: Pretty so-so right now :/ Got in from a driving lesson earlier (yikes) and now I'm powering through some revision for some retakes in a couple of months B) figure I can alleviate the tedium by chatting with you :P How was cornwall? x
Alright, so she has continued to trend of 'online every 5-6 hours, still hasn't even "seen" it'. Except it's been four days now.
I have reasoning for my last text, but looking back I'm not too sure of it. As for the driving lesson part, I know she doesn't drive yet. I've also made jokes about how bad at driving I am. The "alleviate the tedium" part was inspired by that wonderful quote from the Dead Poet Society about wooing ladies. I figure that I used one too many smilies and I should have shaved off a line somewhere. Also probably shouldn't have used (yikes).
Anyway, I'm planning on waiting another day to see if she responds and if not, send another convo opener. A much better one. I'm looking to find out how she did on her exams, be slightly flirty and perhaps ask her out on a date.
Have any of you got any tips for any of these?
