Smile How to meet up with this cutie

I wanted to share this story about a cutie I met. A while back this super cute girl I was crushing on had a LTR, but now she's single I wanna try and tap the potential

    -I have her on facebook
    -I don't have her number
    - I haven't seen/spoken to her for about a year

We bantered and flirted a bit while she had a boyfriend and had good rapport.
How do I re-initiative contact, do you reckon I should go straight out and ask her on a date?

    Cheers,

    -A

Have you ever thought about something along the lines of opening with...

Hey remember me, (we used to hook up a little while back in the day)...

I haven't spoken to you in while, figured maybe its time to get to know each other again? What's new... =P

This might open the door to some good convo

No! With a professional or long-time friend with whom you've been out of touch, maybe. With a tenuous / stale romantic connection, pretend she remembers you. Make something up that isn't true, like a case of mistaken memory. "Hey, Can I get those term paper notes? Can you believe that dude farted in class? That was an awesome day." or "OMG, dude, I can not believe the new receptionist was caught having sex in the parking lot on the hood of a 1984 Renault Fuego. You can't unforget that sh!t" or "I'm going to bring your leaf blower back this weekend. We had waited TOO long to clean out the gutters. Tell [Mike/Cindy/Guillermo] he's awesome" Where Mike/Cindy/Guillermo is a roommate or somebody familiar.

These are just examples; make sure it's sensible, designed to get her to respond. So maybe a little truth, or something slightly remotely relevant to the two of you, or something she might find familiar but not be able to place it, and be forced to respond.

THEN when she responds, act surprised or qualify her. "Uh, what? Am I confused? No, i think not. It was clearly you." Then maybe "It was CLEARLY you, no, I'm not losing my mind. No, just kidding, You're right. I got you mixed up with someone else. But you're familiar, how do I know you?" Then maybe after you "place" the connection: "Oh, HEY, awesome, yes, I remember you. Dude, let's get together and catch up. We'll talk over a couple of brooms and some sweeping." Then when she says "WTF? Brooms and sweeping?" You say "Yeah, we get a couple of brooms, and just walk into Wal Mart and start sweeping."
