    Default too cocky?

danced on and n-closed on a HB9 at the bar tonight (with the help of a great wingman to separate a tough 2 set). later on in the night she walked by and wanted to dance more but i acted pre-occupied.

this is the text volley from the end of the night (after last call):

    me: hey guess who?
    hb9: who?
me: that's not a very good guess
    hb9: ur right! it's not
me: well thats no fun. enjoy the rest of your night

wildcard is that she may or may not have seen me making out with a HB6 at the bar later in the night.

    any advice?

Neah, more likely, bad approach from the very start.

If she saw you making out with that HB6, that dlv'd you.

Think there's any chance to salvage it? Or should I avoid the double text?

Normally after an n-close I would just go with something like "it was nice to meet you (her name) - (my name)" What are your thoughts on that vs. "hey guess who?"

The "nice to meet you" works just great.

You can send her random funny texts to check where she's standing.

I know this is dated as he already saw her again, but here's my input:

There is no such thing as too cocky, so long as you can back it up and don't have to tread on others to get there.

How did you "act" pre-occupied? and why?

Chances are you weren't the only guy to get her number; possibly not even the only one to contact her that night (kind of seems desperate, to me).

There are two ways to make sure she knows who you are when you text a new woman, "hey guess who?" By the way, this should have been typed, "Hey! Guess who..." Have some pride in your typing.
    1. Make such an amazing impact on her night that she guesses you, hoping it is you. She didn't even try to guess.
    2. When I get a woman's number or she gets mine (yes, this happens), I immediately call it so she can save my name with it and knows who the number belongs to. This is done for other reasons, as well.

If you insisted on going with what you sent, I would at least make a game out of it. Instead of admitting defeat, for the night, hoping she begs you to play with her, give her some competition. Give her a hint of who you were based on your earlier interaction. Make a game for her to play. I doubt she was kept up all night wondering who this mystery man is.

How would that be a detriment to his social value? If anything, it helped him. See my post about using a wing-woman.

How can it be beneficial when a HB9 sees you kissing an HB6?

Do you actually think a girl like a HB9 is jealous on a HB6 because the HB9 saw the guy that hit on her and just got her number earlier in the evening with a 3-whole-points-down-the-hotness-scale less attractive female?

    Really???

    I mean, seriously, come on, man. It's a no-brainer.

I was hanging by the bar with some friends I hadn't seen in over a year, so I guess it wasn't really acting. Regardless, saying no to a girl often makes her want you more, no?

Agreed on having pride in my typing, good call.

As for making out with the HB6 helping or not, I would think it depends on the HB9 and how self-confident / jealous / competitive she is. This girl seems pretty competitive, so if she did see, it may have helped.

Did you read my post about using a wong-woman? If something in that post didn't make sense, or you don't agree with it; let's start there and work toward what you asked in the quoted post.

I'll post here, so that Ba$$Hunter can read this too.

They see another woman has a man and they want that man, at first. How many times have you heard a woman say, "I want a man like that" while referring to one of their friend's boyfriend or husband? They don't mean they want a man like that. They want that man.
True, if the guy really has something going on for him, meaning being Alpha to the core and really know how to handle women. Alphas don't go down the chick-ladder just to get some.

    One is a woman I pursued romantically[...] A veritable 9.5, some days, a 10
My point exactly. The only reason why women would be jealous/fight over a man is because of his perceived high value.

Since one of your wing-women is
    A veritable 9.5, some days, a 10
, they ( the HB's ) DO get competitive, they DO fight for your attention and they DO step their act up and put on their most attractive face so that you, the PUA, would choose her over the other girls. I haven't denied this, on the contrary.

However, when a guy hits on a HB9 ( successfully, in part, since he got her number AND she's talking to her ) and then all of a sudden switches to a HB6 to game AND Kiss-Closes her, then his perceived value will AUTOMATICALLY drop. Why? Mostly because of survival and replication value. The HB9 would probably think something among the lines "He couldn't get me completely, so he went for what he can handle. Why should I even care?". If the HB6 would have been an HB9 too ( maybe even better, a HB10 ), it would've been a completely different story.

Oh, and for the record, I did not state that "kissing" is dlv, I stated that the "HB6" is a DLV.
