My first set in 3 years

At the Mall

If you’ve read my thread in introductions you know I’m returning to the game from a long hiatus.* I’m just getting my feet wet again so I figured I would hit up the local mall and practice my games on female shoppers.* I am a little shy yet so I decided that I would only talk to one girl in the hour that I spent there.* I was also out to by a pimp newsboy cap, which I didn’t find, oh well.

So when I walk in I see a group of about 12 people sitting around a table, mostly dudes and one girl, who was not too attractive, just to get myself rolling, not gaming I walk up and just say “What’s going on here.* Looks like some event.”* Girl replies “Nah we all work together, just having a pow wow.”** It occurred to me afterward that I should have said “Where’s the headdresses and the bonfire then.” Instead I just said “Ah cool, you usually don’t see so many people clustered together in a mall.* Just wondering what was up.”

I only mentioned the above because after that some dude runs me down in the mall.* He works for Apple and says “Hey you are really comfortable around people.* Are you looking for a job.” Ha ha.* That got my confidence brewing!

On to the mark…* I spot a girl looking at hockey jerseys.* Short, blonde hair, kind of a geek chic thing going on, which I LOVE!* So I walk BY her, turn my head and say. “Was that a heartbreaker of a game last night, or what!?”* We talk about the game for a few minutes.* She mentions playfully, “Oh just talking about it is making me mad.”* So I say “Ok I’m a pretty tough guy, you can punch me in the shoulder if it will let some aggression out.”* To which she replies, laughing “No that’s ok.”** “Good,” I say “You may be stronger than you look.” Laugh.

So then I say “What brings you to the mall today, other than stylish Penguins apparel.”* She replies “I’m shopping for a gift for my boyfriend.”** Momentary disappointment, but I shake it off.* “His birthday is today.”*

“Today, damn! You girls are supposed to be on top of things! Like, you should have had a gift picked out months ago, some GF you are!”* Laughs, etc.* She appears to be comfortable and even a little flattered that I am talking to her.* So….it goes on this way for about 5 minutes while we talk about what she should get him and our mutual love of gaming (video games that is). I realize that I should probably get off the BF topic but I am a little uncomfortable and she is looking comfortable and easy, that state that women are in where it is just easy to talk to them.*

Eventually I break off and say “Hey, I have to get back to work.” A time constraint but a true one.* I say “you’re name is Gailey right?”* “No,” she says.

I thought it was “like Hailey with a G.”*
“No, it’s actually Kailey with a K.”

“Well, Kailey (said very clearly). You need to annunciate when you speak, or no one can understand you.”* She looks a little stunned and replies “Ok, K-aliey, how about that?”

“Eh, B-. Bye Kailey with a K.” She laughs, we shake hands and I exit the set.

So, questions.

1)***** Given that this is the first game that I have executed in 3 years how do you think that went?
2)***** How do you close a set that mentions she has a boyfriend?* Keep in mind that this is Pittsburgh and most girls actually do have boyfriends.* We are more of a traditional, old fashioned, sort of town.

I am pumped I thought it went well. I felt comfortable an in control. Like I was in the zone.* I am a naturally energetic person so I make a lot of hand gestures, I caught myself looking away while I spoke at the beginning of a thought and ending while I was looking at her (some girls have told me that is sexy but I might try to work that out of my game and make complete eye contact).* I have also heard conflicting info from different PUA’s about “energy.”* David D tells you to relax and move slower.* Mystery advocates energy in your body language.*

If you felt you were in control then good for you. Cant ask for much more than that.

As for th girlfriend thing: Its just my opinion that until they have a ring on their finger they are fair game. Once that hits I back off of it… most of the time at least…. She didn’t mention that she had a boyfriend in a manor that was intended to turn you off. You have to just blow past it like she never said it. I don’t even recognize statements about boy friends most of the time. I look at it as just another obstacle to overcome. I try to do it by showing myself to be so alpha that it doesn’t affect me, and I continue on with my game. The idea is that she sees that it doesn’t affect you where as the statement would affect a normal AFC. I don’t have tons of experience with that situation so my advise may not be the best here, but that is what I try to do.

Thanks for the reply. Good advice. You are right in that she was still engaged after she mentioned the phantom BF. If I could change anything I probably wouldn't have talked to her so muh about him. I would have multi threaded and tried to Bounce to a coffee shop or something.I also need to work on my Kino.My negs were solid but there was no touching whatsoever.

How long were you in the game before this hiatus?

I'm a complete n00b so may not be able to offer much wisdom but other than your Opener do you just 'go with the flow' or do you use any 'preconfigured' routines?
I'm thinking Kino may be easier to learn if you're already familiar with the points in your story where your most likely to use touch.

I picked up some of David Ds stuff about 3years ago. I used it on some 10s and remarkably it worked on one which led to sex and then a 2 year relationship. After I dumped the bitch I chilled on women for a year and just recently went back to the game. Right now my game is pretty unstructured as I have not had a chance to work some of the later gates like Kino etc. Was never part of my game back in the day. I am also about 40 pounds heavier than I was and I am working on getting back to the gym and cleaning up my appearance.

a good situation to be in. you might feel a little out of touch but you are sitting in a field of opporutnities. its up to you which direction you take your game.

you have a lot of options with the fitness...

the david de angelo stuff clicks pretty well for me too. the best way to structure it is to get out in the field and play. you did the right thing in this thread by opening up sets and situations and seeing what arises...
curiosity is important for us. we need to see what makes people tick and what makes things happen. you will be very rich from that 2 year relationship

get out in the field and pick up babes. that will give you structure. be prepared to crash and burn and just get back up and keep playing

Where are the numbers? All those games could have been turned around after a 2 day call. Invitation for a coffee, offer interesting conversation. Play some games to make them have a fun experience. Make a kiss approach, look at your watch, then tell them you have to go and go with out explication. POW the girl will be brainwashed by what just happend. She wont understand what just happend so clearly you`ll be in her mind for days. Advantage afterward, call her again after 2 days and repeat but with interesting stories of what happend etc...
