My first field report.

Alright guys. So I've been out of the game for a long time (due to being in a long term relationship - 4 n half years or so). Spent a year afterwards blaming myself and in that I lost all my self confidence. I spent the last year or so trying to rediscover myself as my research in PUA has led me to the fact that if you aint happy with yourself, then no girl will be.

Now that I'm confident and happy to be me (took alot of work - gymming to lose the weight, rediscovering my hobbies, focusing on excelling my career, and just having more me time).

So anyways that introduction is over, now for my field report.

I was at my local starbucks, I go there all the time because one of my boys lives in a building that is literally right next to that bux.

So I was with 2 other friends, and we were sitting outside smoking our cigars. I noticed a younger HB. I'd say an HB7 maybe. I figured she was a university student as she was studying from books that looked like university textbooks with her friend.

I live in Kuwait and am back and fourth between Dubai and Kuwait because of work. In Kuwait it's a collectivist society and out in public can be quite conservative in these settings (family places such as starbux or restaraunts).

So I eyed her from the outside for a little bit. I noticed that her feet and body were positioned towards me (as that positioning would be illogical as her friend was not in my direction). I noticed her staring at me from the corner of her eye so I figured she must be interested.

I got up and went to the restroom (the men and women restrooms have differ doors but are in the same entrance area). So as I was leaving the mens room she was entering to head to the ladies room. I held the main entrance door open for her and insisted for her to go on. She thanked me and I said in a cocky and funny way. Don't mention it, I'd rather not give you women another scenario to blame men for being sexist (EDIT: I originally posted this as racist, silly typo lol). I hate complaining. Then I went off and sat with my friends.

Within 15 minutes of that conversation I noticed her leaving. I tried to build my confidence by counting to 5 in front of my friends. Told them if I don't leave before 5 then I'm not going to go. I reached just before 4 to get up, that way I'd have to try or else I'd get the comments from the guys teasing me about getting up and not approaching her. I figured if I failed, then we can atleast laugh about it.

I got to her and she was next to her car. So I said, "ahhh not to be sexist but it looks like you confirmed the fact that women can't drive" and smiled at her crooked parking skills. She giggled and looked at me, she then asked me what my name was. I told her "life is too short for names, but you can refer to me as (insert my real name here)".

I then went on and said "hey listen, I don't usually do this but I do think you're cute" (takes out phone and opens up the add contact screen) "put your name and number in, I'm interested in making friends with ya despite your awful parking skills"

She smiled, typed up her name and number. I shook her hand and made my way back to the guys.

I have to say because I didn't keep the goal in my head that I wanted to get laid or get a girlfriend it made it alot easier and I found my voice more stable as well as my body language (no shaking from nervousness or such things). I sat down with the guys...as I was planning to call her so she can save my number and know what my number was, I didn't actually plan to do it so soon. I did it after 15 minutes, simply because I was stupid enough to argue with my friends. They didn't believe me so I made the phone call to say "hey, btw it's (real name here) from the starbux, this is my number - save it and we'll talk later." She acknowledged and I ended the conversation with a friendly goodbye and that was it.

Now, I'm happy with the simple result as a few weeks ago I was completely failing cause I was nervous and had no intentions on my mind when approaching women.

Though I was hoping you guys could point out if I could improve my game in any way and was curious as to what should I do next to build more attraction? Should I wait a few days to call her and set up an outing or should I wait for her call? Should I text? I read up on different posts and different materials from PUA, there are different views but a general agreement in some areas. What do you guys think I should do? I know what I think I should do but I really value the advice from this community as I have read so much of your stuff in the past 2 days that it really help reboost my confidence with approaching and understanding women.

I would call her tomorrow (or text) and after brief convo or texting, set something up for later in the week or this weekend.

Thanks guys. Honestly, I would have failed completely and continued to do so unless I had stumbled onto this forum. The PUA artists were great, but it's a totally different world listening to people you can relate with and how people actually go about different methods.

Thanks for the advice Bill. I'm surely going to do so. I'll keep you guys updated after I speak to her and set something up.

Hopefully soon I'll be more experienced and be able to help others.

BTW by PUA artists I meant those in the mainstream such as David DeAngelo, Mystery, Strauss etc...

Ok so I decided to text her since I've been at work all day and it's been kinda hectic.

Did it over a few txts and kept it short/simple. This conversation was in Arabic so I'll translate to English for you guys.

Me: Hey, how's it goin?
Her: Good, what about yourself?
(waited a few minutes)
Me: Not bad, I'm still in the office. What you up to?
Her: Oh where do you work? I'm trying to get some homework done for my course
(waited a few minutes)
Me: My job too complicated to explain over text. A student huh? What do you study?
Her: I'm studying to be an industrial engineer.
Me: Very nice. Listen, gotta head back to work it's hectic here but just wanted to say Thursday (the start of the weekend here in Kuwait) around 630, let's meet at the starbux we met in. We can get to know each other better and possibly be friends.
Her: Ahh I can't, I'm busy this weekend with my family but we'll definately do something after the weekend during the week.
(waited a good 15 minutes)
Me: Alright *insert her name here*! Enjoy your weekend.

and that's the end of the conversation. I took a chance, and tried not to make any cocky and funny remarks simply because I wanted to test the wave theory. (at times I'm just an average guy - which is what I was thinking of for texting) and then in person I'm totally different in a cocky and funny way.

I figure her excuse alright, probably over exaggerated as I don't think the family will take up the whole weekend but I'm not really bothered. I'll probably see her again at that local starbux and chat her up wit some more funny and cocky material. Tease her a bit.

I know I probably screwed up with the texting game (or how some people may view) but I decided to try something. If it failed and she doesn't call me to meet up next week then it's her loss and there's more fish in the sea.

Just wanted to know, what you guys thought of the texting.

I don't know if there really will be a chance or not but I guess I'll wait and see and update you guys when I know.

You should also try calling her, you can build a lot of rapport that way by talking on the phone, it's cool to text, but just not all the time.

in my experience its always been best for me 2 call a day or 2 after the initial meeting. Talk on the phone for a few min, make plans and than start textn the day after the first call.

Good confident approach, as Bill praised. Couple of textbook points you should take with you:

* after getting the number, stay a few minutes and chat
* TXT her immediately with your name, as you are standing there talking.

When trying to set up a date, state three or four days over the course of a week that you're busy, and follow it up with two options where you are free, but for a limited amount of time. Let her pick. She'll switch into logic mode and it's likely if she can't meet you on your schedule, she honestly can't meet and is not making excuses.

Your TXT was weak, but you still have your value. She's still interested. Your next move should be a phone call next week. Don't hide behind the texts. I know this, as it has been one of my sticking points.
