SL Challenge Day 1 Feild Report

Started the day 1 challenge last night, and finished this evening. One of the strangers I attempted to make small talk with was one of those chicks at the mall, selling some kind of gold Flake lotion and having zero luck getting people interested. I was walking behind some older lady who tried to ignore the HB7 selling the lotion, and simply said "Looks like you're not having any luck are you?" So, as she tried to pitch it to me, I acted slightly interested, but made it look like I had someplace else important to go.I had her hold my cup of coffee while I tried this lotion, and asked if she was a thief, and not to try and steal my coffee from me. She laughed and reassured me she wasn't. She explained how the gold Flakes are in there, and you can see them, but they don't show up after you apply them. I told her it's too bad, because maybe I want to be golden. I got a laugh. She was trying to sell me some sort of aftershave, which came in a box set that apparently runs for about 200 dollars. I told her it was a lot to ask for something that I'm not even convinced really works, and told her "let me try the aftershave, and if I'm convinced after using it, I'll come back." She agreed, and gave it to me for right around half off after me made the deal official, she told me in four weeks it would make my skin amazing and that she has to see it in person. She then asked me to forgive her for her heavy accent (Russian), and that she hates it. I told her that she should be proud of it, it's part of who she is and she shouldn't feel insecure about it. She asked me to guess where she was from, I told her Brazil, which took her by surprise. She asked my name, which is emblazoned on my work uniform, and really hard not to see. We exchanged introductions, and I asked her why would she move from Russia, to Tucson, of all places to go. She told me she just up and did it. She decided to take the gold lotion peddling job, and uproot her life to the freaking desert. By now, the other two people working the booth were looking at us, and making her a little nervous because she wasn't selling me stuff, and we were just bullsh1tting. She asked me what I did, noticing my uniform. I told her I was part of a gigantic company with many different divisions, and I am a specialist in Disposable lighter repair. She said I should have been there yesterday when her's broke down. I pulled out a zippo and told her she should invest in one, because they don't break down as often, are easy to repair, and last for years, and also they are magic. "What do you mean magic?" I showed her a trick where I snuff out the flame, and move my hand to "throw" the flame back on the wick. It's a cheap trick, and really easy to do. Either people will be impressed and want to know how it's done, or laugh because it's pretty lame. She laughed. By now her coworkers were making it pretty obvious they were getting annoyed so she stalled to make it look like I was sampling other things. "Let me see your hand" she said, taking mine and unbuttoning my sleeve. "This stuff is great." She started to rub some sort of lotion along my wrist.After explaining what it does, she ended up putting it in my bag. She asked me how old I was, I told her to guess. She guessed correctly. I pretended to be amazed, and asked if she could read minds. She laughed and said no. I wasn't convinced, I told her, and told her I'd pick a number between 1 and 10, and that she needs to guess it. She guessed 6, I told her it was 7, and she said Damn! I knew it was 7, but I changed it to 6! We fluffed a little bit more, and they were getting close to closing time. I asked her how was I supposed to know if she was going to be working in four weeks, as was said in the deal. She gave me her number, and told me that it was her personal number, not a work phone, and that I should call her and make sure she's here when I come in. I told her I needed to get going to work, and "accidentally" left my blended coffee drink there. I took about 6 steps away before I heard her yell my name, and she came running up with my coffee. "You almost forgot this, I promise I didn't try and steal it."
You may point out that she was only selling me something, but I had already purchased the aftershave, and she informed that I was causing her to lose money (to which she laughed).

So, now that I have her number, should I initiate contact, or honor our deal and see if she remembers it in four weeks?

This may have been jumping the gun on the challenge, but I felt that if I didn't aim high, and take the chance. Any constructive criticism would be great, and I welcome any pointers on what I could have done better, or what I shouldn't have done to begin with. Tomorrow I will start day two, and see where that adventure takes me.

Nah man, she was interested. If I were you I would give her a good texting. Send something bringing up something funny about your little meeting with her. Dont text too long, and set up something. Dont be like "hey I think you are really cute I would like to get to know you better" (well, that might work, but for some reason I feel better saying something else -->) Tell her something like "Im going to (a location) want to tag along? It just makes it seem like your not needy. Dont wait a month man, that's too long after just meeting her. maybe for a crazy Freeze Out or something a month would be good, but not in your case, definitely not.
