Field Report #1 - Day Game Number Close

Hey guys, Thought I'd share a brief synopsis of my first ever Number Close during the day. This was probably my 5th or 6th daytime approach, but the first time I actually went for the number.


Location: Girl sitting alone at outside table

Approach style: Indirect

Result: Number Close

I saw a cute brunette girl sitting alone reading at a table. I opened by asking if anyone was sitting there and she said that her friend was coming. Of course, I told her I'd just be a second and sat down, saying I'd get up if her friend showed up (she never did while I was there). I asked her about what she was reading, and justified why I came over by saying I'm just really social and like talking to people. We started talking about local bars and such and which ones had the creepiest regulars. I teased her by suggesting she flirt with some of the older men that frequent this one bar, saying they were her type. The only other tease I did was making fun of how her friend hadn't showed, saying maybe she got ditched.

Honestly, I did very little teasing and no Kino whatsoever: I never touched her except to shake her hand when I left. I could just tell she was into me because she kept asking me questions and smiling so I didn't think I needed to do anything else to get her number. For the close I simply said "hey you were pretty fun to talk to, why don't I get your number and we'll meet up". I think it's better to just assume she'll give me her number than to formally ask "hey, could I have your number?" because it shows more confidence. She gave me it and I told her I'll text her- now I just need to decide where to take her.

All in all I might've just got lucky in picking the right target but I won't complain. Best of luck to the rest of you guys! -J
