Ex-Boyfriend in the club? WTF?

Guys last night I went out and not one, but two of the girls I trying to sarge told me that their ex-boyfriend was in the club! Even though I kiss-closed one I was still wondering what the hell was going on and why she would even tell me that in the first place. Is it just a ploy to make the guy jealous and how should you play that kind of ex-boyfriend centered conversation??

if the girl had a bf and she really liked and was open to kissing you she would not bring up her bf at all! So the only reason she might tell you is because she wants you to know and make sure you are ok with doing it even though she has a boyfriend or else she is just saying to get rid of you. Either way you should always acknowledge it in a way that it is indifferent to you. Say something to show that it does not affect you. Dont over acknowledge it. Even ignoring it would be a good thing imo. Also some kind of neg like "dont expect anything but good conversation from me".

Had the same thing happen to me on new years eve, and I assumed she was just trying to make me feel like I had competition, to boost her esteem or whatever.. But we were kissing, dancing, kinoing, buying each other drinks all night so I couldn't work her out, she was cool but why did she tell me her ex was there? To make me jealous? I just figured she was lying..

Anyway, we met up again and explained that she hadn't wanted to look like she was just doing it to get back at him, and because she didn't want me to be freaked out if he came over and she got all cold on me in front of him. Which I can see her point.
