My sorry excuse for a field report: 3rd attempt ever

I came into a restaurant at my school and saw this cute girl sitting by herself (don't know what HB means). I wanted to talk to her, but as you can see from the title, i'm still very new to this. So I ordered my stuff and I went and sat at the closest table to her. I was trying to plan my opener and all that stuff out, but she turned around and opened me o.O

She asked for my help with her phone and I agreed to help. I moved my stuff to her table (I asked if I could first, which could have been a mistake). She told me that she got a new phone and i asked to see the manual (was trying to find a reason to stay around) I was about to ask her school-related stuff but she started telling me about herself first. She told me that she wasn't a student and that she was there to compete in a sports game. I then brought up that I used to play that sport too, because I read that it's good to make it known to her that you share something with her. She started talking about other sports she did and then I started talking about thie fact that I did martial arts. She brought up that she did it too and then told me that she had a lot of brothers (I didn't ask). She got a phone call and then told me she had to go. She smiled and told me her name, reached out for my hand and said that she would be back next week at the same time.

I got her to laught at least 4 times within the 10 minutes I was over there, but I was pretty caught off guard when she started talking to me first. What could I have done better here and what could I do next time? She's coming back next week so I still have a chance for redemption.

There's another girl who I opened last week and showed a few ioi's (slowing down to talk to me and asking where I lived) who I have a night class with tonight. I plan to get her to sit next to me and try something. Still don't know exactly what I'll do lol

Well dude. The girl opened you which is a HUGE ioi. Did she ask your name? Because that is also an IOI. She told you when she would be back as well which is yet another great sign.

I think you should have number closed then and there. You should have said something like "Hey why don't we hang out while you are here." and in turn she probably would have offered up her number to you.

You should have just moved your stuff without asking in my opinion. It looks like you are looking for her approval. The mentality you should start taking is that this is your reality and people are just guests in it.

If you see her again, I would just sit down with her without asking and Start A Conversation like you are old friends. you should work to already have plans and something to invite her to do before you even run into her. That way you can say "Hey I am doing X you should come along." and she may say "Here is my # call me later about it."

1) Ur right you shouldnt have asked b/c it gives her the power and lowers ur value. A confident man takes what he wants and in this case it was a seat at the table.

2) I would've programmed my number into her phone before i handed it back to her too.

Nice report, I like that you are thorough. In my reports, I always list at the top what the venue was, who the target was, the approach style and the end result.

I also try to quote my Opener verbatim and be as detailed as possible to get feedback. Guys like Tropics and others can give some keen advice, so give them something to work with other than "I said hi to this girl, we started talking for a bit but then she left." When you are just starting always do a report, whether you are reporting a Number Close or a rejection, just write it up. Only way to learn.
