Field Report #3 *Special*- Three Daytime Approaches that haven't happened yet

That's right. I am trying something new here and reporting on three approaches I will be making tomorrow morning/afternoon. The approaches will be direct and made on girls on/near a college campus (probably in the 19-24 range). If in the event I do more than three approaches, I'll just pick the best three to report on.

Here's the twist: I promise to myself and to the entire forum to do all three approaches and not to Eject without going for the close. If she takes off before I can ask for her number, it doesn't count. I will be posting the results tomorrow around 8 PM (EST) in a reply or edit: otherwise I will permanently leave the forum.

Why do something like this? Well, because I have been slacking recently on the approaches, too content with the people I already know, doing schoolwork, watching sports, being "too" busy, and making excuses. Truth is, there is plenty of time to approach every day, no matter what.

Time to cut the crap, kill the excuses, stop worrying about right way to dress, talk, act etc. and just get out there.

Here it is, a bit long but I've tried to summarize the important points for you guys. Enjoy

Scenario: College campus, both outside and in cafe's

First I warmed up by approaching two girls attempting to fail which really relaxed me. I offered them a muffin I was carrying in exchange for a date--had them both laughing before I said I was kidding and left.

Approach 1: Number closed girl sitting alone at table

I went right over to this girl on her laptop, said I thought she was cute and had to talk with her, if just for 30 seconds. I followed up with, "unless you're doing some really important work there." I liked this for 2 reasons:

1. This is kind of a playful tease about her being really busy and doing important things on her computer, when really she is probably bored, browsing random sites and such.

2. Since she isn't that busy, I induce her to say "oh no, I'm not doing anything important" which is a subconscious invitation for me to stay. My opinion of course, feel free to comment on this.

We talked about a lot of random crap so I'll cut to the key points: being funny and closing. I asked her "so how do you keep yourself busy" (a question I borrowed from the PUA Alex Coulson) which generated some good conversation. When she told me she worked in a lab, I playfully responded that I too engaged in stimulating work....as a toll booth collector!

I said "yeah every car is a new adventure; sometimes people pay with small change and you get to count it up, sometimes with large bills" (all with a sarcastic tone/smile)

This got her laughing, and she was not even smiling when I first starting talking to her. I closed by saying I had class in 5 minutes and handed her my phone to punch in her number. We then shook hands (meh..could've done better here) and told her I'd text her.

Approach 2: Number closed girl sitting alone at table

Exact same scenario: girl working on her computer. This time I went semi-direct with the following Opener:

Me: "excuse me, do you know where this building is located"
Her: "oh sorry, I'm not really sure...I've never heard of it"
Me: (sitting down) "I'll be honest, I just made that up. I really just over here because I thought you were kinda cute etc."

This is a nice variant of the direct opener because it still shows you are confident, but you are also messing with them a bit.

Honestly, this conversation went kind of boring: lots of questions and answers. She started packing up her things (was I that lame or was she perhaps on her way out anyway? hmm..) so I cut her off saying, "I actually need to go" so I could be one leaving her.

Closed by saying we should hang out and literally handed her the phone, which stopped her from packing up for a minute and got her to punch it in.

Approach 3: Failed Number Close with two set

Got myself involved with one really cute girl (a bit on the young side though) and a below average one. The other girl was much smarter and pinpointed my age, personality etc. while the target seemed to buy the stuff I was saying. My indirect opener:

"hey can I get your guys opinion on something, would you ever date a guy who still sleeps with a stuffed animal or a blanket or something" (also stole from Alex Coulson)

This got a nice conversation flowing, and the cute girl actually initiated asking my name first. The other girl even complemented me on having the nerve to just walk up to them. Still, I got nervous and suggested we hang out and how it would be fun..blah..blah. They said "uhh, no thanks" and I wimped out and backtracked rather than push on.

Sometimes I back down like that, I should have just given her the phone like I did earlier and persevered, rather then accept their answer. Oh well, a solid day nonetheless.

PS: I always text the numbers I get to see if they were real or fake, or if the girls were actually interested or not. I'll update in a few days with how the texts went.

Texted the girl in approach 1

Me: hey it's me from the other day. Save this number--it's pretty important

Her: haha you think so huh?

This was a nice, cocky opening text that got a quick response from her. I haven't texted the other girl but I am going to try being less cocky, just tell her hi here's my number and see what happens.

Also, I had a nice crash and burn just a few minutes ago I wanted to post.

I approached a cute girl in glasses in a cafe, and sat down saying she looked like my type. I asked what she was working on, tried to tease her on some comments her professor made on her paper; in short was cocky and funny. But she was not really laughing and didn't like my sarcasm, I told her we were going on a date to this ranch (gave her this funny pamphlet) and she was like wtf. I told her I was kidding and she said she doesn't like when guys just lie and that it was creepy to have a random guy talking to her.

Yikes...but not a total blowout (no "leave me alone" or "go the fark away"

There was no chemistry anyway, so it was for the best. She talked way too softly and I would never date any girl who doesn't like joking around. Still, I acted like a biotch in this one. I didn't state my intentions, I should have been more straightforward and I was saying gimiky things with a nervous voice. Then I wimped out and said "oh I'm not hitting on you, I'm just joking around" which she thought (probably rightfully so) that I was being disingenuous. Still, I hung around for another 5 minutes and had a "normal" chat with her about school and stuff and left on a good note, but I could tell she wasn't at all interested.

I feel great though because I did the approach, didn't have my best stuff, and still stuck around for a while. Every rejection makes you more comfortable around women and makes the next approach that much easier.

Still got two other girls to text, so on the next one!

yo it's so difficult for me to approach. I do it sometimes but I am not comfortable at all. My heart wanna pop out cause I'm so nervous lol. How'd u overcome that?

Man, you are doing an awesome job. The more approaches you do the faster you will learn. Keep it up.
