Tonights FR

This is my first post of what I expect will be many... I've studied NLP for a number of years but just started my life as an aspiring PUA this year and just joined this site in the last 24 hours.

I was bored after getting off of work and figured that I'd hit a new bar to check out the scenery. Since today is a Tuesday, there wasn't much going on. There was a 5-set in the room (2 guys and 3 girls) when I got there but they were on there way out as soon as I got there. I ordered a beer, shot a game of pool (solo) and waited a few minutes.

I heavier lady in her early 40's came up to the bar and sat down on a couple of stools away. She was a 6.5 at best... I certainly wasn't interested in laying her, but I figured if nothing else, I could get some practice in ice-breaking. She was ordering shots of Tequila and looked a little down so I approached with a smile and good eye contact and asked her what it was going to take to put a smile on her face. I introduced myself and she gave me her name. For privacy sake and possible future references, I'll call her 'Hangtime'. We talked for a few minutes and she told me that she was just getting out of a 20+ year marriage and having a rough time with it. Instead of trying for a lay, I purposely moved towards the LBJF zone. We talked for a little about relationships and guys in general and I asked her if she'd like to hang out with some of my friends and myself some time. She seemed excited and gave me her phone number although I don't know that I'll put a lot of effort in following up.

-1. The point of the matter is this... although it wasn't the most successful of nights, I recommend us guys are always trying to strengthen some facet of our game, even if it's just striking up a conversation with a chick that you don't intend on laying.

-2. Never underestimate the power of networking and wingwomen. I have a girlfriend that I've known for 15+ years. She's been married and divorced three times from men who have cheated on her. I always tell her that she's probably the only woman in the world that I respect and would never sleep with (not entirely true, but it's effective for what I need.) While she gives me hell for my promiscuous lifestyle, she has introduced me to a couple of hot girls from her work (she's a nurse... woohoo, love playing doctor) and she's been an effective (yet involuntary) wingwomen on more than one occasion. It seems that women let their defenses down when you're kickin' it with another woman or two in your group.

While I hope that I never get drunk enough to sleep with 'Hangtime', but it would interesting to see if she has some hot friends or bring her along on a sarge and see how it works out.

Hey LR, welcome to the forum. I always respect guys who are willing to lay it on the line and post an honest field report. After all, there's no point in learning game if you aren't going out into the field.

I don't know how old you are, but I personally would never sleep with someone 40 and up--still, I would talk to her in order to practice approaching, talking to women, and for social proof. Especially good for getting rid of aa--if you are too nervous to talk to a 40 year old, you won't be able to talk to a hot 25 year old. Whenever I go out, I'll talk to pretty much anyone--guys, girls, old people, whoever.

Plus you probably made that lady's night, girls like to be approached by friendly guys because it makes them feel attractive and approachable. Heck, that lady might have some 18 year old daughter who has friends: it's worth meeting people of any age. See you around the forums
