Would this be considered unintentional building of Social Proof?

There is a really attractive chick i was seeing several months ago and she's in town only for the holidays. She blew up my cell phone (3 calls back to back to back over a 10min span) while i was on a dinner date last week with a different girl I've just recently met. I have a pic of the girl come up on my Iphone when this girl calls, and my phone was sitting right on the table between me and my date. My date (who is a 8-9 herself) kept commenting on how pretty/cute the girl calling me was. and i kind of felt like it had an impact on me f-closing her that night. don't know if it gave her the element of competing for my time (i told her the girl calling me was just a friend in town over holidays) or what.

But it has me thinking if I should set-up calls to come in while on other dates in the future lol...her behavior just seemed a little more flirtatious after the missed calls...or maybe it was all the wine she was drinking.

I could be way off by saying this was unintentional social proof as i don't really have all the jargon down anyway...but wanted to see what others thought? thx

I think this move could be dynamite on the right kind of girl, though I think it would be a detriment with others. Things like this are where I really think paying attention to a girl's personality is key. With a confident, competitive women this would definitely build social proof, as well giving her an incentive to seal the deal with you sooner than later, knowing that you've got options if she decides to play hard to get. This would also provide a pretty smooth transition into Style's picture routine wherein she comments on the girl's picture and then you tell her that you two are going to take some pictures together and pick one out to use as her caller-ID picture.

Then there's another sub-set of women. The shy girls, maybe a little self-conscious, the type that want you to validate them by making them feel special. This trick could backfire with them. First she's going to feel out-competed just by the fact that you have other girls calling you and upon seeing their pictures she'll likely get self-conscious comparing herself to her whether she's more attractive or not. So I think what you've got is a solid technique to run with and experiment. But like with anything else, pick your punches; know when to use it and when to keep it in the holster.
