discuss.

There are lots of effective openings for a casual conversation. It depends upon the situation you're in. For me, I once experience going to a party of a friend of mine. I noticed a gorgeous lady staring at the portrait holding an empty glass of martini. My opening line was " Can I refill your drink?" She smiled at me and looked back at the portrait. I said " nice portrait huh". She responded "yes". As you can see, she welcomed my introduction. I didn't noticed that we were all talking and talking all throughout. We ended up introducing ourselves. And the rest is history.

hmm.. I wouldn't open with "can I refill your drink?" It seems a bit submissive. I liked your "nice portrait" opening. Even from the way you've described it, the girl clearly indicates that she didn't like the "pouring drink" opener.

It depends if you're playing day or night game. I usually play the day game (I rarely go out at night). In this case, I would recommend conquer your campus as a good guide for that. I'm not sure about night game though. I would assume it would be close to Mystery's method. Perhaps noticing something about her (could be a vibe or something) nothing directly about her appearance.

The "nice portrait" opening is fine. However,it seems the "can I refill your drink part is a bit submissive though.and I agree with Mystery_wannabe on that. I would say, stick on the openers that a girl will most respond to to avoid turn down on initial contact. For me, an initial contact is important for playing the game.

I read about the SLEEP WITH JESUS (Pnutt) Opener where you Approach A Girl and tell her something like, "Will you sleep with Jesus? Say, you were born in his time, he comes up to you at a pub or tavern (what do they call that sh!t?) and orders water for you, which of course he turns into wine. Would you sleep with him?

I can see girls cracking up, wondering if you're serious or not, and actually pondering the question. You can even add to it
and do follow up like, "Would you be impressed if he invites you to roll over a manger? Do beards do it for you? Well,
seeing as he was a carpenter's son and was probably doing carpentry work himself, he'd surely have callused hands. Will that be a turn on?"

Of course, woe to the person who uses this on someone prayerful. Hehe.

Let me ask something a little deeper of this thread and see what you guys think. openers are a dime a dozen but can you take something that you would use as an Opener and turn it in to a lead? Walking up to a girl and asking any number of questions can be easy to get her to turn and start talking but what would you ask after your opener?

Best conversation starter: A question you're genuinely interested in knowing the answer to.

All the best conversation starters are questions of some type that lead to deeper communication. Not all openers are questions, but they eventually lead to questions that carry a conversation deeper.

My pattern is: Question > Answer > Story Relating To Answer > Another Question

With this sequence, you can carry on conversations for a long, long time.

I like ones which surprise them and make them smile.

Yesterday, I opened with one I stole from one of David D's interviews. I walked up to a girl and said: "Look, me and my friends are having a discussion. Flossing -- before or after you brush your teeth?" She was laughing and said: "Afterwards, of course? Why would anyone blah blah blah".

Then, it's fun to keep your opinion to yourself for a little bit and make her guess. Then you can ask why she thought I'd have that opinion, etc.

What I did find out, is that it's important to quickly switch to the next topic.

Small talk Opening Lines

  • So what brought you here (today, tonight)?
  • Is there enough fun here for the both of us?
  • (find something, then ask) Whats the story behind that?
  • Is this the place to be?
  • You look fun, (high five).
  • You have nice style (high five).
  • Whoah!!! Where did you come from?
  • Hey, Hey!!! What you got going over here?
  • Wow! Is it always like this here?
