here are some great openers to try

So i was laying in bed thinking to myself about some good openers for the book store. There is a barnes and nobles right across the street from my house, since I am there at least 2-3 hours out of my day. I was thinking of several different openers.

1. If a girl is sorting through the magazines like most do, I was thinking of walking up to her and saying:

Ghost: Excuse me, I only have a minute but I would really like to get your opinion on a discussion my friends and I were having, Do you think that men who are overly muscular like this man(pointing to the steroid abusing guy on the front of mens fitness or what not) are attractive? with a slight tone of sarcasm and laugh.
HB: BLAH
Ghost: I would then interrupt her a couple seconds in and say, "I have told my friends over and over again that while looks may be what women first see, usually having an outgoing personality can make up for almost any physical deformity, even if that deformity is having tooo much muscle!" "A perfect example is you(point at the womans body), physically decently attractive, although your style isnt really my type(good ned), you seem to have a good energy about you that makes me want to talk to you, and while living in scottsdale there are beautiful women running around everywhere, Then run the mystery technique of beauty isnt everything. Having three key things is important: having a good energy, outlook, and aura are key.

or if i dont feel like running the mystery routine I was thinking I could even run with kind of one I made up on my own. After asking her opinion when I interrupt her I would say "I have told my friends all the time that judging a book by its cover is never a good idea, for instance ill bet you would never guess that I pick up the mens fitness magazine like this because they have great recipes for healthy cooking, while I do enjoy staying in shape, I love cooking healthy good tasting food. Now what about you, Is there more to you(pointing slightly at hb) then meets the eye or is it all gossip and taylor lautner for you in those magazines?(small neg)
HB: now depending on the answer I can either neg again, or continue on to dhv.

The third and final is a spin off of the second instead of saying For instance Ill bet you would never guess that I pick up the mens fitness magazine like this because they have great recipes for healthy cooking, while i do enjoy staying in shape, I love cooking healthy good tasting food.

I would say "I have told my friends all the time that judging a book by its cover is never a good idea. Which is why I have to ask is it all about twilight characters and gossip magazines with you?(small neg) "or are there certain things in these magazines that you feel would set you a part from the rest of the group?"

Ghost: If she laughs(which she should, she will most likely probably open up or at least thats what i would think)

I feel like at this point you could even stack by saying "You knost most people dont realize but you can tell a lot about a persons intentions, motivations, and emotional level just by what their reading. I then take her and say "for instance lets say you look at a gossip magazine I could go out on a limb and say maybe you just want to be in the know, therefor you like to broaden your horizons and you are an intelligent person. By picking up the cosmo not only do you maybe enjoy sex, but you also like trying new things and keep your significant other happy, which would make you an adventurous person and caring person... see isn't this fun..I know more about u then u do!(small neg). I would think that at this point you could even go straight for a second meeting close by saying! How would you like to sit down for some coffee and tell me some things I might not know about you!? or you could continue with on with something else or you could even try and Number Close on the spot by saying "I really need to get back to my book, I am on a schedule, but how can continue this conversation?

I wanted to get a heads up from some of you guys before trying this in the field over the next week. I feel like it could really open a girl up to a possibility of not only number closing, even second meet closing right there on the spot for coffee at the bookstore or even dinner at my place that night. Especially if the girl is into healthy good food, and a man cooking for her.

please be critical and gimme some thoughts!

This sounds try hard dude. You are constantly qualifying yourself through this opener, its going to make you look very beta. Don’t worry about Dvh in an opener. All you need to worry about is getting to a hook point. Then once you reach that you can start to dhv. I don’t neg in an opener either (normally there are always situations where it can work). Once again you’re trying to get her to be willing to have a conversation with you. If you insult her she is not going to want to do that, she is just going to want to get away from you.

Not bad for a first try. Did you try it and did you have any success?

yeah i agree. it seems like your trying to form way to many things into your opener hoping that it will improve your chances and picking the girl up. we dont have to have everything in an opener. this actually is one of the myths some people run into to. to pick up a girl dont i need the perfect opener? no actually you dont. an opener is merely to get you talking to a girl so you can reach the hook point where she begins to become invested in the conversation.

but now for the other extreme. you also shouldnt go up to a girl and be completely boring cause then your chances of picking her up will be drastically decreased. what you want to do is have an opener that allows you to talk to her and then transition, try to reach the hook point and then start to dhv and all that other stuff. its fun to come up with new openers but you also dont want to try to hard.

i actually couldnt sleep well last night and ended up thinking of one that i could play on my 21st. i could go up and open merely to get an opinion on what drink i should get cause i know nothing about alcohol. (so far as they know that. i actually work in bars and restaurants. haha) but then this allows them to talk to me, i can transition and then even play the five question game where the winner gets a shot and after having a fun few minutes and getting a shot, i can just simply Number Close or even kiss close if the situation is right. but you want to keep it simple like that. nothing to ellaborate or try hard. just something good enough to be different, get them talking and allowing you to work your game

I like the feedback, I have not gotten to use it in the field yet. So far every day I have been at the bookstore its been a complete dump. I also just got back from a 2 day camping trip to payson, last night however I went to a local car show and as crob knows I was going to open a single HB10 looking at my favorite car, but what I didnt notice until about a step away from her was that she had an engagement ring on(fark!).

Next time open her anyways. Use it as practice. At this point what's it goi g to hurt. Just keep working to get past aa and hook points.

lol yeah i remember that. but good lesson. carry mints or gum with you so u have good breath. but yeah its good to usually observe the target for a minute. i actually the other day opened with an opinion Opener and went straight into a cold read on my target. like right on the spot, and holy sh1t did it work amazingly. i just observed her for a minute and tried to guess her type thru stuff i learned from pandoras box and then just went straight into a cold read. haha someone else should try it. i just did the relationship opinion opener for a friend thing and then said something like why do people have to play games blah blah blah. she seemed like a hopeful romantic and may have gotten burned and i hit it dead on the head. i made that cold read perfect.

tcomea you should try this and tell me how it goes. and use an advanced cold read and see if it works. i want to know if it could work again. i might try it again soon.

dude I am not that advanced yet.. I am still trying to just get past aa and getting some good openers into conversation. But I am actually headed to the book store right now to see if anything pops up... we shall see. and next time ill open her up anyways and hope that hubby to be isnt anywhere around!

it wont matter if he is. don't so be goal oriented with your PUA Openers. just try to make it fun and become friends. I'm sure she has lots of hot single friends. haha trust me
