tough, talkative girls

hey i just started college (in the uk)and ive spotted a couple of girls im interested in. the only problem is that girls from around my parts arent exactly open to socialising. they will literally give you the shortest answer humanly possible, even if asked a good open question like "what kind of music are you into?". also the girls are quick to go and gossip with their friends about you to make you look stupid (for the record this hasnt happened to me but i fear it will if i try). Theres a girl with beautiful eyes, and weve made solid eye contact on multiple occasions but im not sure if i should make a move. what would i say or how would i open? also i know im just going to be told 'go for it whats the worst that could happen?' but how should i? also if i fail ill have to see her on a regular basis which will be awkward. i know its long to read but thanks.

Try the method where you go to a shopping mall and say hi to every girl. (I'm not sure who's the original quoter, so if you're the one, feel free to quote this as yours (: )

Or you can try my personal favourite if you're scared.

Get a bunch of friends (preferably with girls), go to a mall and offer free hugs.

You are over thinking it man. My advice is just go for it. If you are really nervous to run game on her, you can at least open her and start conversation and see where it goes from there. If not, your going to sit in class, stare at her and think "what if" by the time the semester is over you'll be kicking your self in the ass for not talking to her. Also, I would reccommend not to ask "What kind of music are you into" becuase you are giving her an ioi. Turn a question into a staement. "You look like a Carrie Underwood type of girl huh" You will learn more from your faliures than your success. So don't beat your self up when a set doesn't go your way. Just think what you could have done better next time in that situation and move along. The more you do it, the better you'll get.

ok i am no expert or anything (more like the other way round) but this happened to me last year, there was this girl in my class i liked etc.. i told some of my friends about this and they all said just give it a try.. then actually got angry at myself for not just asking her (cause i know if i wait too long she might change feelings etc).. so one day after school i asked her if i could walk with her home (her friends were absent so good for me).. we random talked and when we came close to her house i just told her how i felt.. she rejected me lol (said she dating another one).. i said dw.. we cool?.. she replied .. sure .. then i just went home etc.. the other day at school i felt some kinda pressure when she came but after 2 weeks it was ok (she didn't say anything to her friends so that was luck for me but if she did) i would just tell me at least i had the guts to ask her ..or somethin

and always remember there are other fish at sea .. you just go out once in a club and you see some cute girls and u will most prob forget about u asking her and rejected you (hopefully she wont reject)..

Here's some advice that I have tried and actually work good. 1st of all the Hi part in the shopping mall will give you confidence to talk to the girl you want. So it's practice.. so practice at the mall just say hi to several of women, either pretty, hot, ugly, or just not your taste.. but you have to remember that you have to practice.. I know it works because I have tried quite some time back.. by the way it was my fathers advice..
