This is a list of some of what I've read, whats valuable, what's not, and what I think others should read.
I like paper books too, they're easy to read. But to be honest theres so many e-books on game I may have to get a e-reader and expand.
The Game by Neil Strauss (AKA Style) - strongly reccomended as the first book for anyone to read, well worth reading at any point however. Strauss is a fantastic author and this book is full of solid, simple, subtle game, has tips that anyone can incorporate into their game
The mystery method by mystery (real name something funky)
This is mystery's step by step approach to the game. This is highly valuable material for people who have some base understanding of the game. Not your first book, but an absolute must have. This book is 100% material, no story. Add it to your collection, just know that mystery is a bit crazy.
Rules of the game by Strauss - this book is full of more material from Style, but approached as 30 individual challenges to be taken sequentially to get you over the game. He starts with simple things, you goal today is to talk to 5 different people, just say hi. Then it gets progressive into imbedding false time constraints, getting out of your comfort zone, etc.
How to make anyone fall in love with you- Leil Lowndes. This book is not about game, it is her very traditional approach to dating. Leil is smart tho, she touches on a ton of clues on how to understand body language and IOIs, how to know when a girl is trying to open you, etc. This book is full of stuff that many of you should recognize as AFC, but it is worth reading none-the less because some of what you can take away from it is still powerful regarding the psychology of traditional attraction.
Double your dating (E-Book) - David Deangelo
This is a helpful book, but read with caution. Deangelo advocates his style he calls "Cockey-funny". This works for some people but I dont particularly advocate it. Think like - teasing girls but being super agressive and cockey about it just hoping for a laugh. He does have some great tips in here tho such as his ideas on escalation, 2 steps forward, one step back. Well reccomended but not necessarily a must-have.
The pickup artist - Mystery
Mystery's most recent book (I think). This is worth reading. Its the Mystery method revised, but written more like a story. This is not full of nearly as much material as the mystery method, but is still very valuable and has some great advanced information on things like stripper game, and balancing the flame and the ghost. Definitly reccomended
The Art of Seduction - Robert Green
Almost worthless. This is considered one of the classics, but.... yea. Green breaks out some of the classic types of seductors and seductees and goes into long, long, long, drawn out stories. Its borring, and you will take away almost nothing. Don't waste your time. Green really lacks information about actual pickup and how to incorporate it into your game today.
The Layguide - Tony Klink,
Klink discusses his basic guide on game and pickup. I'm actually only half way through this so its a partial review. He is heavily influenced by Ross Jeffries who he references in several places. He does however take bits of Mystery, Deangelo, and others, and makes clear references to them. 70% of the book is reinforcing basic stuff discussed in the books above, still worth reading. 20% is more or less new material, or similar approaches just not discussed elsewhere and quite valuable for comparisons. Then 10% of it is basically AFC stuff I'm surprised made it in there, advocates direct stuff telling girls how cute they are, etc (to be fair he distinguishes the strategies you would use on a 10 however).
By and large I reccomend it. Its also a very good book for begginers because he tells you some very simple stuff for people to do to start making conversations and saying HI to people without jumping right into pickup. Just understand not all of it is solid advice, but its a pretty good book for begginers looking for more advice. ( I believe he will get into more advanced stuff, he's alluded to it but like I said I'm only halfway through)
The principles of social competence- Ebook (free) by manhood academy. I started reading this book for a while from suggestions by another post on this forum, then skimmed the rest of it looking for more. His book is a breakdown of the problems feminism creates and the reasons pickup works by re-establishing the balance the way the world is supposed to be.
Don't waste your time. Not saying there isn't an argument here, but the book is straight up hostile to women and not the least bit of use to PUAs.
How to talk to anyone- Leil Lowndes (same author who wrote how to make anyone fall in love with you). Not really a book on game. If you love what she wrote in the first book, check this out, its really more simple stuff about talking to business people or random strangers and such. Not valuable for game tho.
I posted this partially so I can reference it when people ask what to read. This should give a short explanation of what I think you can get out of the books and all.
I'd like to hear everyone else's take on these books, as well as what you favorite one or two must read books are that are not on this list. I'm always looking for more game to read so please post your favorites.
