Default Working Out To Improve Finesse

Have you ever seen a dorky guy move and just thought to yourself what is wrong with that guy. Or maybe you seen yourself move in the mirror of a bathroom stall and were disgusted by your lack of grace(I know I was). Most puas think its a lack of confidence or bodylanguage training. If you have this issue reading material is not going to help you out with this problem.
I had terrible jerky bodylanguage and I was into pua for a year. Reading books and watching videos on it and it didnt improve until I did one thing.
It was hitting the gym. The second I started going regularly for 3 months I found myself smoothing out. Not only that but girls constantly complimenting my new found physique.
Most guys on here don't feel the need to workout because they're puas and they can depend on material, to me that is lazy talk and is beneath somebody that is pursing such a lofty ambition as becoming a Pickup Artist.

The first line of this just cracked me up man hahaha.

Well to me u nailed this on the head, it's something I've been thinking about more.
Like sometimes if I haven't worked out in awhile, I just feel less energy and not as confident u know? I think it helps a great deal.

I could def use some work, I'm toned but kinda skinny and want to fill out more. I used to have a workout room at an old apt and I miss having that, now I just do basics at home and ride a bike a fair deal.

The confidence u get from working out is totally worth it, just remember to stretch

I'm gonna get back into that, thanks for the booster man!

Thumbs up Re: Working Out To Improve Finesse

You got me on this one I have gained considerable weight in the past month and can't even wake up to jog. This is some sort of reality check. I have been more than lazy and less motivated to accomplish much. Fitness is an essential to mental stability.
There is no substitute to fitness.

Have been following your threads I like your approach.

Ya for sure, working out at the gym releases endorphins which relax you and improve your state of mind...heavy weights feel better for me than just running and stuff I feel all relaxed after. The hard part is just going there.

I've mentioned this before, but I'm a huge advocate of using parkour to make yourself a better man. PK is a fantastic way to stay in shape, build your self-confidence, and give you a Mindset that's geared towards overcoming obstacles. When you do Parkour for a while, you get this grace, this smoothness that just flows from your body. I urge anyone interested on improving body language and their physique to give it a try, it's something you can teach yourself. I have.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming “WOW...What a Ride!”

Isn't parkour where you just run around and jump on things. It seems pretty silly, but I bet it is addicting and for sure great exercise.

Plenty of youtube videos on it.

I mostly see them on Tosh.0 or Ridiculousness where they show them not making their jumps.

Haha. Ive seen those too, and on behalf of everyone who takes it seriously, we're sorry. But there are idiots in every sport/discipline. Just like in Pick-up, you've got to know the underlying principles for it to make sense. I'm going to outline it for you.

First off, you have to know the distance between parkour and freerunning. Parkour is the basic movements utilized in a practical and efficient manner with the intent of getting where you want to go as quickly as possible. The moves used are for the most parts engrained in our human DNA, there what our ancestors used to hunt prey and move over difficult terrain. Then there's freerunning, which maintains all of parkour a moves but adds in flips, turns, twists, and other tricks. The goal in freerunning is to look good and have fun. Lots of people don't know the difference.

Now, as I mentioned earlier, parkour is about efficiency. It's about being fast fluid, and effective. The goal being to get to where you want to go as fast as possible. During training, you practice moves and routes so that when the time comes, you'll be ready. You must constantly be gauging your surroundings. Every other sport and discipline uses a planned environment that's been shaped to the ideal conditions. Parkour is not like that. It's about taking the environment you are in, adapting to it, and using it to your advantage. Likewise, you have to always be judging yourself, knowing your limits and gradually pushing past them. You have to find balance between being safe and making progress. If you don't, you end up like the idiots on tosh.0.

There are also a lot of mental benefits to parkour that I can go into. If you guys are really this interested, I'll start a separate thread about it.

To answer your question, if you want to get started look at americanparkour.com. They've got some great articles and training videos that will help you out.
