Default ADHD and SSRI's Game advice haha. Anyone out there?

    Hey guys

I'm just wondering whether anyone out there also has ADHD like me and takes Ritalin or some other medication. If I don't take this medication it's very difficult to concentrate and get stuff done.. in other words I wouldn't be sitting down and reading a book.

What I find when I take it, however, I'm far too focused on getting things done and become rather serious, closed off and lose a lot of my creative side. I'm wondering if anybody else feels the same on this drug?? In a pick up situation I would be much more awkward than usual.. does anyone have this problem?? how have you overcome it?

I was also taking Fluoxetine (SSRI)earlier on in the year, but stopped as I felt like a bloody emotionless zombie. I now take Pristiq (also anti-depressant drug) now to help me with getting sh*t done and stop procrastinating with my studies and what not. I've been on it for about 3 months now. The change felt pretty good.. like I'm really focused on getting things done.. One of the side effects, however, is decreased libido.. and no joke... I have gone from being horny like a motherf**ker 24/7 who would procrastiBATE to no end.. to only feeling like I really needed to get down to business like once a week.. sorry for all the details.. I'm just amazed at what this is doing to me.

I mean the drug is great if all you want to do in life is set goals and get stuff done... but I have been in a dry spell for 3 months now.. I don't go out because I want to get stuff done. I don't really waste my time trying to socialise with idiots because I want to get stuff done haha.

Is anyone also in the same position as me... ADHD and on anti-depressants?? How do you go about picking up girls while you're on/off this drug?? Do you take it while you're out clubbing or in a social setting or would you leave the ritalin at home?

I'm interested in hearing what people's thoughts on the matter are??

    Thanks Guys

    Lol, this was funny.

A lot of us have depression. The two seem to go hand in hand (PU and depression) because PU is about bettering yourself. I can't say much on the topic seeing as I'm not a doctor, but I have been on an assortment of meds over the past five years. Here's what I have to say.

Don't go off your meds. I know it's tempting, and people who have never dealt with it don't understand, but if you're feeling good it's because they're working. If you're supposed to take them regularly, do so.

Find what works. Which it already seems you are trying to do. Keep it up. Sometimes it's going to be hell, but don't give up because you will find a combination that works best for you. It took me two years to find my "magic pills." It was worth it. Depending on what country you live in, different SSRI's (and SNRI's) are going to be available. Five years ago things were different. Medicine is rapidly changing, which is good and bad. Make sure you know what you are getting yourself into before you say yes.

I know very little on ADHD, so I'm sorry that I can't help you there.
Wondering where I am now? Check out my latest project:

Here is my suggest I have depression and ADHD. Get some sunlight exposure daily. No glasses, hats etc. This will help you get some vitamin D production and also help with your eyes. Depression is due to congestive to the liver. So avoid alcohol. Eat some carrots and ocassionally consume some beets. These two foods will help your liver.
I don't suggest you go off your medication but eating fresh made whole food is way to go. Also try to sleep by 10 pm. By 11 pm your liver will start detoxifying if you're not sleeping by then you're over working them.

Avoiding watching tv, it can increase depression. Try a new sport or something. I take walks or go riding my bike. Start reading a book. Try to be kind to yourself. Try these things and you may see some improve in a month or two. If you do it right you can be off your medication but your doctor should closely monitor you. Diet and life style is very important when it comes to health problems.

I actually have ADD, and take Adderall twice a day.

For me, it's a focus thing if I don't take it. Almost like I'm in a fog.... I'll start a bunch of things & never finish them.

But when I take it, I feel like myself again. My creativity & thinking are also much sharper when I stay on the prescribed regimine.

I don't have depression however, but a lot of times that does go hand in hand with ADD.

It's just one of those things I've learned to stay on top of for the best results.

i have come to find that the best ways to fight adhd are to: stop taking my medicine, engage in lots of excercise every day, and meditate to refocus. after you shop taking your meds you will feel terrible for the first couple of days, this is the result of your bodies dependence on it to stay focused.by day three you should start a riggerous excercise program, it will give you even more energy wich needs to be refoccused through meditation. when you meditate after working out you should think of things that make you feel calme cool and collected, then focus and blow the energy out through your mouth, you will notice it will all go away and you will be foccused on getting stuff done like you were when you were on your meds. then if you want to be the life of the party, right as you get their you can meditate thinking of things that energize you and breathe the energy in through your nose. though i do warn you this will make you uncontrolably hyper the first time you do it. eventually you should be able to controle your mood by meditating and thinking about it for a few minutes. this worked for me i hope it helps you
