Default Planet Fitness vs. a "Manlier" gym

I'm new to a city and am trying to decide on a work out facility. Planet fitness strikes me as a place where fat people work out. Their weights are a bit on the light side (but sufficient), everything is purple, and they have that weird "lunk alarm." At this point, the best thing about it is the price. What are your experiences with Planet Fitness?

Lol, sufficient? Planet fitness hardly has any free weights. It's a cardio oriented gym for the masses of women who fall into the trap of believing that hours of cardio will make you lose fat and look good. It won't.

    Find another gym.

I went in there once, and I was very taken aback by the size of the gym itself. However, after a brief walk around of the facility, I realized that there was no squat rack

Phucking planet fitness doesn't have a phucking power cage OR squat rack. A gym with no way to do barbell back squats..

If your gym doesn't have the facilities to let you perform all of the basic lifts (squat, bench press, deadlift, pull-up), then it's not a gym. It's a cardio farm.

Go find a different gym and lift some shit.

Totally agree, some of the 24 hour gyms like Snap and particularly Anytime all have facilities which cater to the basic lifts and descent free weight training. Go find a gym with a descent vibe too.
