    You, I and everyone else you know go to the gym because it makes us feel good.

    Even more importantly, we go because it makes us look good. You wouldnít go to the gym if somehow it made you look worse. So what is the specific look that youíre trying to achieve? Most guys have an idea of what they want to look like, but canít pin it down to an exact size or shape. They just know there is some room for improvement.


    Without a specific goal, how will you ever know if your workout is getting you closer to the shape you want? This is the mistake everyone is making. Going to the gym and working out with no specific goal. Most workouts are a mix of bodybuilding, powerlifting and some form of cardio. Each of these workout styles have their own specific goals that donít necessarily add up to making you look better.


    The bodybuilding mantra of Ďbigger is betterí isnít right. Most women donít find overly muscled guys attractive and most huge guys are just insecure. They feel the need to be big because they think it will give get them ďrespectĒ. Itís blatantly obvious when guys are working out to compensate for a lack of Social Status.


    Powerlifting will make you strong, but itíll end up turning you into a barrel shape. Iím sure this isnít quite the look youíre going for.


    Excessive cardio will just make you look skinny and weak, and can actually eat away at your muscle mass.


    Just any combination of these styles will never give you the results you want. Most guys donít know how much of each to use and when to back off and when to go for more. To get what you want you need a careful and calculated balance of these workout methods. A specific goal and specific workout tailored to your individual strengths and weaknesses is the only way to be sure that youíre getting the results you want fast.

    And from where I am, there is that perception that guys who work out strictly only at the gym are probably gay and checking the other men there out. So, also run or row or play some actual sport.

    im a bit of an expert in this area: I am representative for the company IBE and PHF that sells supplements/anabolics...i got to be their representative by proving i knew what i was doing in terms of bodybuilding. I am aproximately 205 lbs with a small percentage of bodyfat and trust me i sound buig but i am not at all considering arnold was 250lbs i am tiny at 205 compared to him. Anyways best ways to get a better body IMO would be by using the method of 3 sets of 8-12 reps per muscle group. Such exercise would cause optimum amount of muscle breakdown forcing the body to in turn cause protein synthasis which is the conversion of ingested protein into muscle fibers via hyperplasia and hypertrophy (mostly hypertrophy) once muscle mass has been added your ability to loose fat greatly increases as those bigger muscle require more nutrients and calories you can eat more and most of it will be "sucked" by your muscles since they are being trained so hard that they will demand most nutrients and calories ingested from your diet.

    As for diet i reccomend a 55/15/30 of C:P:F
    your consumption of macros should be 55% coming from carbs
    15% coming from protein
    30% from fats

    this specific diet was proven to increase testosterone levels in males which is significant since testosterone is king when it comes to hormones that build muscle.
